The Journey:
Sometime in October 2009, I saw this picture of Bill and his lion-mane hair online (with a rather nasty caption, sadly), and basically I thought he looked really interesting and I didn't want to judge him based on the caption. I had no idea who he was, so I dug around the comments on the picture to find his name, then googled it. Found the band name, went to youtube, watched the video for "Don't Jump," and fell in love. And then I found out that Bill and Tom are twins, and there was no going back.
While digging through youtube videos trying to find TH songs I hadn't heard yet, I discovered twincest videos and... ehm... You all know what that lead to. No one offline knows anything about my interest in this. They might disown me if they did.

Oh, goodness. I stumbled upon this story today, and I am so glad that I did. I loved the way Bill grew up, and Tom's emotional/moral struggles all along. They were both so real.
I liked the ending a lot, though of course there's that part of me that's screaming, "But what happens next?" I think the moral ambiguity works well with the entire story and with the concept in general - how could it possibly become clear-cut in any way?

You are... Wow, I've even waited since I finished to clear my head and leave a review you'd actually understand, but apparently it didn't work.
Your attention to detail, the way you fit the story together piece by piece, the way the smallest thing comes back later, proving to be important after all... It's just masterful, and I'm in awe.
You had me rooting for those boys from the beginning, from the first slight hint that they might not end up together, right until the end. Speaking of the end, I loved the way you solved everything - again with the details that come back later, their mother and David Jost. Both appeared to be things just mentioned in passing, and then there they are, essential elements to the plot.
I'm repeating myself now, so I'll stop here. Wonderful, wonderful writing. A definite favorite. Thank you.

Hmm. I'm sorry, but that was far too convenient. And it came out of nowhere. It's not a bad idea, but I'm afraid you didn't set it up well enough. If you'd dropped hints earlier (for example, we had no idea that Vanessa had a cousin from Denmark - telling us would have been a step toward making the plot twist reasonable), that would be one thing, but you really didn't. I'd just suggest that, in future stories, you try to set up the big plot twists better. A twist is a wonderful thing, but not if it's not realistic. In my opinion, the best thing about plot twists is being able to go back in the story and pick out the hints that the author dropped and think, "Oh! That makes so much sense now!"
I still enjoyed the chapter, and I'm looking forward to reading the rest. I feel terrible for Bill. I hope Tom gets there quickly.

I'm so glad you're not offended... I was worried my review seemed too harsh. I'm sorry you don't think this fic is any good, though, because it is! Especially for your second story. I completely understand just writing without a plan... I do that sometimes. It's harder with a site like this, when you're posting as you write - you can't go back and make changes to make your new idea more reasonable. ;) It is a good idea to plan before you write (or at least before you post) in the future.
I hope to see more of this story soon. It might help with inspiration if you think back to why you started it in the first place and how you felt about it in the beginning.
