When I first saw "m-preg" as a genre on this site, I swore I'd never read it. It was just too weird. This story, though, for some reason, just kept popping up in front of me, and I gave in and read it. I am so glad I did.

The character development and emotion throughout were masterful. It was sweet, sad, funny... And so incredibly realistic. I can actually see it happening. None of the characters did or said anything that I thought was off or too "perfect world." For example, Bill bribing the doctor not to tell anyone about his relationship with Tom. A lot of people, I think, would avoid that by just having the doctor be so understanding and seeing love as sacred and who-is-she-to-intervene? Your way of dealing with it made so much more sense from a real-world standpoint.

I feel like I'm just rambling now, but you probably get the idea. This is the kind of writing that I aspire to. It was a joy to read. Thank you.

I adore this story. Their struggles, their fears, and their love for each other were all so potent. Definitely one of my favorites.

I was a little disappointed with the lack of an epilogue - you ended it very well, but there are loose strings that haven't been tied up. We don't know that Amsel is going to let them go, we don't know how David is going to react... An epilogue is called for here, I think, to really complete the story.

Regardless, though, it was really excellent, and that is the only complaint I have. Thank you!

Great story! I very much enjoyed it.
I'd like to see a sequel, particularly if it were to deal with the issues that they haven't worked out - because, honestly, I can't really see Bill having such an easy time trusting Tom again, even if he's forgiven him. Tom did cheat on him, after all, and was pretty callous about it, in my opinion.

This story, in itself, was wonderful. I actually liked that not everyone survived. More realistic that way, even though it was sad to see them dying. I'm glad Bill made it, though! Again, good work.

A wonderful story! The world you created was wonderful, the characters believeable and loveable. I'm sad that it's over, but I thought the ending was perfect.

Heh. Hard to miss that foreshadowing if you're paying attention... "A spreading puddle of blood..." Yeah.

And Deena's just gotten herself into trouble. I hope that foreshadowing refers to her captors and not to her. I kinda like Deena.

And I'm not really complaining that they don't close their doors. This story wouldn't be half as interesting if they did. ;)

I feel bad for Bill, having to share Tom, but I understand Tom's situation, too. It wouldn't be fair to Deena or Mahtob for Tom to just ditch them.

And now you've got me really worried about Deena, not to mention wondering what on earth is going on in this place.

So I had a whole review here and lost it, but I'll see what I can recreate from it...

It was a perfect ending, though bittersweet. I loved that Bill got to see his mother one more time (I'd like to read the reunion scene, should you feel inclined to write it), but not so much that Tom married Mahtob. I understand why it had to happen, though - just as you explained, Tom's son wouldn't have been as secure if his mother wasn't queen, and Mahtob deserved something.

The way you dealt with Aaron was great - get him out of the way, but don't punish him for something he didn't do. Pretty sure you provided closure in everything I had questions about, actually, so that's a job well done.

The very end was lovely. I'm so glad that Bill was accepted as Tom's love by the court. It would have been so sad if they hadn't been able to be open about it, though I suppose Tom is sultan, so he can kinda do whatever he wants in that department...

Oh, and I found it incredibly depressing that Tom's liver is failing, but it's something so realistic that I can't fault you for it, haha. I'm glad he's using what time he has to be a good sultan and improve the lives of his people.

Think that ended up being longer than my original review. Anyway, I can see myself re-reading this and enjoying it equally every time, many times to come. Certainly one of my favorites. Thank you for taking me on this breathtaking journey!

\r\n\r\nI like your idea for the cookie, I\'ll probably end up writing it! And of course I didn\'t expect most people to be HAPPY about Tom marrying Mahtob/Tom\'s poor health. I purposefully put those in there to show that real life can be happy, but it is rarely perfect.

That was such a cute story, and I didn't think the ending was too abrupt. You didn't resolve any major conflicts in the last five seconds, after all (and you didn't end it with the actual graduation, which is a plus - it's a nice ending point, but kinda cliche, so this was good). I really enjoyed tagging along on their journey.
