I kinda like this sort of ffs. Honestly i also don't need Tom to walk again in the end, since that doesn't happen very often in realtiy, but people find joy in their lives anyway. What I'd like to read would be, how he manages to overcome his sadness and that he can enjoy his life, wheelchair or not.
But don't listen too much to me, since it's your story^^
Oh I noticed that you tend to start your sentences with "I" a lot, what is no problem as long as you don't start two or three sentences after another with "I". You know what I mean?^^
