I could seriously kiss you both right now, I didn't even see werewolf coming, it wasn't even one of my guesses. I was still thinking that maybe Tom was normal or something but oh man! What a great chapter, I love being wrong when it comes to stuff like this and totally kick ass what he ended up being. Werewolves are my all time favorite of all the monster family.

Right. You know someone's in a hurry when they end up spelling their own name wrong. I can't even delete/correct/re-post that review now coz you guys replied to it. D: It'll be stuck as "Ela" for all eternity. Damn you.

...I really want that missing l back. ;___;

But the happiness this chapter made me feel makes up for it. It was very squee-worth, though not exactly what I was picturing the big revelation to be like. I dunno why I thought it'd be the classic "OH MY GOD YOU'RE A WEREWOLF?! O__O AND HOW AM I GOING TO GET ALL THAT BLOOD OUT OF MY GOOD SHEETS?!" You guys never do anything normally.

That's not to say I didn't like this way of going about it. I'm actually glad you guys did away with all that unnecessary drama, it would have cheapened the fic somehow. This fic was always more about the subtle satire than the slapstick comedy.

Even still, I loved Bill's reactions to it. You know you're shaping a character damn well when the reader knows how they're going to react before they do -- well, I did, anyway. I also liked that he didn't completely revert back to his old self with this one incident. I mean, there were the obvious things that suggested he was a lot more comfortable with that part of himself than he had been before - pajamas, Blorgspat, Monster Hunters, etc. - but the fact that he's still a bit torn about reverting back completely made it a lot more realistic.

And speaking of which, the part where he thought that he couldn't ever make the concerned look on Simone's face go away made me want to both smack and hug him simultaneously. Someone needs to tell him being a worrywart is an essential part of being a mother. -petpetept-

Philosopher!Tom was too cute. I could tell from the beginning that his was a character I wouldn't really *get* until probably the very end, but you're doing a good job of keeping up with what you've introduced so far, you know? It's not like you show another facet of his personality and forget about it when you move on the next - it keeps showing up throughout the story, and that's partly what makes everything he does so natural. Well, that and the fact that its written so matter-of-factly.

Okay, muffin is telling me to hurry it up so if this review is shorter than the rest, you know who to go maim. Before I end it, I'd like hmm thoughtfully and say:

"Curiouser and curiouser."

DAMN, I've ALWAYS wanted to say that! D: And it actually applies this time. I hate that you guys prompt me to ask as many questions as you just answered. It's really quite sadistic of you, you realize?

And, and, before I forget, despite your hivemind being seriously creepy (and in need of medical attention, I'm not even kidding) the idea for turning all werewolf theories upside down was absolutely brilliant - even more so because it made sense, and! that you didn't go into too much detail about it, because with how reluctant Tom seems to be when it concerns sharing information, that would have seemed odd.

Uh, umm, what else, I wanted to say something else... oh yeah!

TOM'S A WEREWOLF! AND I KNEW IT ALL ALONG, BITCHES. >:D

I'm totally going to hint-review each chapter all over again. Bwahahahaha.

(And Muffin, college, have you lost your mind? Don't gooooooooo! D:)

Okay, first of all OH MY GOD, HE FINALLY FINDS OUT. D: And for the record, no, I did not think you meant sex. ...really. I'm being serious. ...why don't you belieeeveee meee?

I'm still a little miffed at having missed this chapter (a week! It's been just *lying* here, *begging* to be read for a week! I...I feel like a monster. ;__;) and so I was going to make it up with a really awesomesauce review, but all that's going through my mind right now is 'press the next button, press it, press it, PRESS IT' and I'm trying REALLY FREAKING HARD not to. So excuse me if this just turns out to be an incoherent jumble of words (not that that would be any different from all the rest, huh?)

I'm going to start from the top, because if I started from the bottom my eyes would keep going back to the 'next' button and denying it would eventually lead to brain damage, I'm SURE of it.

Cheesy!thoughtful!Tom makes me wibble really, really hard. I awwed through the first part of him being adorable, but when the 'Wolf-Man' part came up I did wonder if his reasons weren't partially selfish - if he doesn't like Bill being his usual weird self because it makes him feel more accepted, even though Bill doesn't know what he is. I get the feeling that he's trying in part so hard to revert Bill back to his old self because he's feeling threatened; if Bill doesn't believe in those things anymore then it's like his entire existence has been wiped out.

I don't know if you guys meant to get that across, but even if you didn't I'm glad it did. His vulnerability makes him a lot more human (even though he's... you know... not...) and you're just rounding out his character more and more... he's starting to resemble a donut, I'll be honest. D:

...donut-Tomi. Mmm mm, good...

ANYWAY. From the last chapter I thought I'd feel annoyed at Bill and his obstinacy, but after reading through his inner soliloquy, I'm just sympathetic. I have a very close relationship with Guilt as you very well know and it's easy for me to understand how it piles up higher and higher until it forces you to do things - and believe things - that you don't want to. I'd always seen Bill as carefree, a little selfish even, before, but it's apparent that he cares a lot more about the people around him and their thoughts than he lets on. That saddens me more than his loss of individuality - the fact that he's not only losing himself, but allowing himself to be lost.

But angsty thoughts aside, "Pretending to be... Something you're not." HYPOCRISY? IS THAT YOU I SMELL? ...but at least Tom recognizes it. I was expecting him to slide into denial, but he's a smart cookie. -pet-

He's not the only one either - it was exceedingly sneaky of you to mention that "incident" that caused Bill's change. At first I thought you were going to go into a flashback and explain it, but I was very pleasantly surprised when I found you were continuing the theme from before - letting us wonder. You're good at forcing us to stew in our own (lack of) imagination.

Also, Georg and Gustav are dicks. Can't you make Tom, like... I dunno, eat them? D:

"Peanut butter and jelly was a very normal lunch." Oh, Tom. He's getting it bad from all sides, isn't he? Poor baby.

And Simone. I both hate and love the misunderstanding between her and Bill - hate in the sense that I want Bill to understand *why* she seems concerned, and love because it's very natural. It's something I continue to marvel at about this story - it's so very real, even when you're discussing Keebler elves and hobo trolls. That's something I don't think anyone could pull off with as much as ease as you two. ...fucking hivemind. D:<

Nearing the end now, and the next button is just aching to be pressed. I.. I can't deny it any longer. One more thing though: blood! D: NO TOM, DON'T DIE YET! YOU HAVE TO SEX BILL UP FIRST! ...AND TELL ME WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH ALL THOSE SNEAKERS! DON'T DIEEEEE.

Okay, I'm off to the next. -scuttles away-

Author's Response:

Thank you for the review, Nanners.

Yes, you hit the nail right on the head when it comes to Tom's motives. It bothered him that Bill was denying everything supernatural because it was denying his own existence.

I'm glad Tom is seeming more round now. It's taking longer to show the depth of his character because he's actually far more complicated than Bill. Muffin and I understand him and all his motives, but we can only show bits and pieces at a time because we're protecting all his secrets.

As for Tom sexing up Bill, Muffin told me to say this: Well, you never know- Tom could sex Bill up from beyond the grave.

Now that's something unexpected. There is actually something supernatural in this story! But it's fine with me. Tom as werewolf is hot.
So what about the sex?

Awwwww. Little wolfish snores are the best thing to leave us with. Boy!kisses and snuggles are my favorite thing.

I had a feeling Tom wasn't human just because, but I don't think I expected this. Loving it as usual.

Im thinking its Tom, and he got dressed up or dressed up an animal to get Bill back to his normal self xD

But i'd die of laughter if it was a evil lawn gnome, it would explain the blood

yet another Friday has passed and the story wasn't updated...

*eats cereal with m&m's out of despair. it's very good, though. I always said that Good Literature could help in real life, too*

Author's Response:

Sorry. The late update is my fault.

I had a job interview yesterday and then got swept up in doing stuff with my family. By the time I got home, I was too exhausted to keep writing. We decided it was better to wait and give you a good chapter than half-ass it through the chapter. It's a pretty important chapter. We'll try to get it up today.

Another great chapter, though it reminds me of why I dislike reading stuff before it's complete... I have to wait to find out what happens!
And I really wanna know, hehe.

Yeah, I admit I thought you meant the sex... and also, maybe, it meant that you would reveal the solution to the enigma you have been writing...

Not so lucky... Yet another cliffhanger... :(

The question I always return to, when ever I doubt the supernatural in the story, is: Why does Tom bury shoos?

I hope i will find out in the next chapter...

Thank you for this story! I'm always anxiously awaiting the next chapter!
It is really excellent! :)

I am on to your tricks! I was all getting into the end bit and really wanting to know who/what made the mess, and then I took a second to think "wait, they're just going to hook it because they are evil like that." And then you did because you are. :P I do have a guess what is on the bed but I guess I will wait patiently to see.

The date was so cute. I had a big cheesy smile on my face each time Tom did the cheesy yawn-and-stretch. Sooo cute.
