Banners and Member Conduct Now that we're all viewing stories by "Recent," that means that everyone on the site will be able to view the banners on fan fics.
Do you know what that means?
It means that people need to be more careful when posting banners. The recommended size for banners is 600pixels wide and 300pixels tall. The width MUST NOT BE more than 600pixels, otherwise it will not fit the layout. If your graphic is a little taller than this, it's okay, but do not make your banner much taller than 300pixels.

Why are we enforcing this rule? Because not everyone's computers can handle loading insanely large files. Also, because we've had multiple banners posted that are too large for the layout. When a banner is too wide it will post over things such as the menu, the ads, and the guides.
I think we can all agree that the banners should not be larger than the layout.
This is good time to also remind you that posting songs and videos that auto play in your summaries is also NOT A GOOD THING.
Fan fics with banners that do not fit the size requirements will be either resized or removed from the site. If you post music or videos that play automatically, they will be removed.
Member Conduct...
This is something we shouldn't have to even talk about, but sadly, we do.
When dealing with other members on the site and when dealing with the admins/mods, you must be polite. This isn't suggested, this is required. There is no reason for anyone to be rude, insulting, or all around bitchy to someone else on the site. If you're going to be a jerk, do it off the site. We are not tolerating it here anymore.
This carries over into emailing the site staff. If you email one of the staff asking for help or if you have a complaint, do not be rude about it. Please and Thank Yous will get you very far in life.
The lack of respect shown for the site staff boggles my mind, since we are all here WORKING FOR YOU, FOR FREE. We get upwards of 80 fan fic submissions a day in the queue, and as you can imagine, reading them all over and validating them is a real chore.
It takes time and energy, so a little gratitude goes a long way. No one is asking for you to kiss anyone's ass on the staff, but we are asking for a little patience and a little less lip.
Do not email the site staff demanding they fix an issue. Email them and ask if they can. You may find they will respond to your problem quicker if you aren't an insane psycho bitch.

I dont have anything against you, and its not like I've ever bitched to you guys about "fixing a problem". Any time i have emailed you guys it was always with the utmost curtesy.I think ive only ever emailed you directly once. I respond in kind with how i read it. I'm not going to deny it, you're completely right. But i tried to apologize, and it didnt work. After people realized you hated me, then everyone else did too. Thats fine, whatever, but dont think i dont still love this site. I still appreciate everything you guys do, and I'm sorry I'm a shit. And dont think you're special, I'm like this to almost everyone. Also, I was being sarcastic, I dont skim your writing, you know you're amazing. And I'm not sucking up, (since its pointless anyways) I'm stating a fact.

I love this site--it's the most well-run fanfic site in any fandom I've come across in about six years of reading/writing slash. I've said in my profile, and I'll say again, the number of submissions/reviews speaks for itself. So thanks to the admins.

oh come ON guys, honestly, do YOU spend several hours, days, months making sure this site runs smoothly for our enjoyment? This isn't their job, they choose to make a crowd happy, and yet some of you have the audacity to bash some petty details, and some even take the time to put it bitchingly wrapped in an email...it's like sending a death threat by texting, growww up. I never would have thought people were rude on here, everyone's comments seemed so friendly on this page..

right, well ive never actually emailed any of the admins or anything, and i only write reviews sparingly so im pretty much unknown on this site. in any case, i think you guys do a fantastic job and im so happy to have found this site. its run extremely well and i appreciate the work you all do. sorry if this is kindof off topic but i just thought i would put that out there =)

I want to thank every site admin/mod right now for doing a fantastic job. So many people benefit from how well this site is run. While I have no problem understanding that people have bad attitudes, it makes me very sad that it's gotten to the point where a post had to be made. I'm glad you guys are cool about it. I don't think I'd be as diplomatic as you've been.

I agree. I don't see why people have to be rude when e-mailing the staff. And thank you for the re-sizing the banners. They make my computer run slowly and now they are not. :)

I can't understand why someone'd be rude to you staff. I have utmost respect for you girls for running such a huge archive. :) People are idiots. Clearly they don't realise the work and money a website takes, and see it solely as their playground to bitch around.
