We are implementing new submission rules at THF, and the site will no longer allow stories with certain content to be posted. Recently THF came under attack by a group of fans that resulted in the site being banned from Paypal for its explicit content. We are concerned that some of our content could get the website and its members in trouble in other areas, so we consulted a lawyer at the OTW and explained our situation and concerns.

While it is very unlikely that THF would ever face legal action due to its explicit content, the lawyer we spoke to explained that it is not impossible and that people have gone to court in the United States for "obscene textual content" in the recent past.

We are very sure that THF is safe from any legal action, but to be certain that the website, the staff, and the authors will never come under any trouble, we are removing content that the lawyer suggested and that we no longer wish to host. The underage erotica, featuring characters 10 and under in NC-17 situations (underage erotica with characters over ten is fine), was suggested by the lawyer we spoke with as the most dangerous content on the website.

The bestiality and necrophilia is being removed because the founders and staff voted unanimously that they are not comfortable with this content being on the website. We do not mean to offend anyone who writes this content, and we do not mean to censor our members. We apologize to those who have to remove content and we hope you will cooperate with our wishes and continue to visit and enjoy THF.

Before you delete any of your fan fic, please read the descriptions of the warnings below, as many of you have most likely mislabeled your fiction and will not need to remove anything from the website!

Bestiality: Bestiality is fan fic featuring animals in explicit sexual situations with human beings. These animals include horses, dogs, cats, goats, etc. This warning does not include WEREWOLVES, VAMPIRES, ALIENS, MONSTERS, AND SO FORTH. Fics with that sort of content are CREATURE FICS, and we have made a new GENRE for this.

Necrophilia: Necrophilia involves explicit sexual situations with corpses. This does not include VAMPIRES, GHOSTS, ZOMBIES, ETC.

Underage Erotica (10 and younger): If a character is ten years or younger and is in an explicit, graphic NC-17 sexual situation, it will no longer be allowed on the website.

We would like to make it clear that mentions of these genres and warnings in a story are not forbidden. We are only forbidding explicit scenes.

Please don’t panic! We want to give you this opportunity to remove or edit the stories listed below yourself. If you feel you have mislabeled your story or that your story should stay, please CONTACT US and explain why, and we will attempt to work something out with you.

We are giving two weeks for you to remove or edit your content and contact us before we go in and delete them from the site permanently.

Both cynical_terror and undrockroll (site founders) have had to remove content because of these site changes, so the change in rules are not targeted toward any members.
