New Warning and Some Clarification

Hey all :)

We've just added the warning "Incest" to the site. We realized there are stories that have incest relationships that aren't necessarily "twincest". So, please don't use the incest warning when you're trying to warn for twincest, because we already HAVE a twincest warning - unless you're writing a story in which the twins are in a relationship in addition to a son and father, too. Is this making everyone as uncomfortable as I am? GREAT!

Also, I wanted to clarify the WIP warning. A lot of people are getting upset about it, saying that perhaps the WIP warning is superfluous in addition to the fact that a story can be marked as finished or unfinished. Well, WIP stands for Work In Progress, or Written In Parts. A true WIP is a story that the author is posting that has not finished yet. There are stories authors post in pieces, but sometimes the story is already written, the author is just taking their time posting it. That wouldn't be considered a WIP.

Lastly, the deadline is soon approaching for our first THF Fanfic Challenge!

I would just like it to be cleared up what the point of twincest - not related is. :/ I know it has nothing to do with this post, but I am still trying to understand how something is incest, or twincest, without the characters being related.

Twincest - not related is applied in a story where Bill and Tom are in a relationship but it's an AU where they aren't actually twin brothers. You should warn for it because at the end of the day, it's still Bill and Tom and in real life, they ARE twin brothers, so people will get offended if they wander into the situation not wanting twincest, regardless of whether they're brothers or not.

I believe you've written some stories where that's the case.

Oh, and also I'm planning a fic and now you've introduced an incest warning I'm unsure as of what to use. Would it be incest, twincest or both, if Bill and Tom are related and in a relationship but are not twins just brothers? I'm not 100% sure.

Anachan- Just use your own discretion. I wouldn't put either warning for that situation, but you can really decide for yourself. In the US the legal age for consent IN MOST STATE (some are lower) is 18, but I know in Europe it varies a lot, so just do what seems right for you.

MysticalMayhem- The submissions DO need to be in English, however, at the beginning of the site when we didn't have moderated submissions, sometimes fic in other languages got through. Are the fics you found old postings, or new? If they're new, please direct me to them so I can delete them and notify the author.

Also, the situation you're describing is really difficult, lol. It would be perfect if our warning "Twincest - Not Related" was "Twincest - Not Twins," in which case you'd put that warning and the "incest" warning. I don't know. I would just put twincest in your warning for now, but let people know in the notes that they're just brothers and not twins.
