Plagiarism and Excessive Reviewing If you are found plagiarizing, you will be banned from this website. This is not limited to just plagiarizing another author's fan fiction. This extends to fan fiction authors plagiarizing novels as well. You can not take a direct paragraph or excerpt from a Jane Austen novel, change the characters' names to Bill and Tom, and pass it off as your original fan fiction.
There is a fine line between what is plagiarism, and what is not. You could take that same Jane Austen novel, and use the plot as inspiration for your own story (of course, adding your own flair and ideas to it). That's an adaptation, and that's usually fine.
You can not write the story line for line, paraphrasing the original book. This is plagiarism. Additionally, if you ever write an adaptation of a novel or movie, say so in your author's notes. Give credit to the original creator.
We know there are thousands, hundreds of thousands of stories in the world and you might think it's near impossible to get caught if you do this. The truth is, someone will always knows, and you will get busted and banned.

Onto the next issue. We have received complaints lately that people are "review bombing" certain stories in order to get them in the Top Ten lists. We have looked into this and found that it's, unfortunately, true.
Because of this, we have removed the "Top Ten Most Reviewed Story/Series" from the site, as it is no longer credible. We are enforcing a new rule, too. You cannot review a chapter or story excessively. One or two reviews per chapter or if it's a one shot, story is fine.
If we catch you "review bombing" a story, we will delete all the reviews and send you an email, giving you a warning.
And that's all there is to be said about that.
Summer is coming to an end and the school year is starting up again. It's been a long summer, hasn't it? Let's try to make what's left of it as good as possible around here.

Nikibabi, there really wasn't any point in having the top ten most reviewed if it was skewed by cheating. I'm really sad to see them go too, but it would be a lot of work for the mods to check and make sure no review bombing was taking place and some people just don't want to play fair.

I think that the most reviewed sorry list wasn't in any help. It's pretty obvious that a story with 30 and more chapters will get more reviews as a oneshot or 5 chapter long story.
