Is there any way to download all the fics in case the site doesn't survive? It would be good to save them all for people who cherish these stories.

Well, I won't let the site go down without a fight. Don't worry, I love it too much and have put too much work into it, as has everyone else... we'll make it!

HOWEVER - you are welcome to download your favorite fics at any time! I find the easiest way to do it is to click the little printer icon by the title and then File ->Save Page As. :)

Is this bar since its been uploaded? because i know of at least 3 contributors and it says there have only been 4 and the comments in the last one said there were a few, even donating a little. I'm confused.

no worries! this counter started today, with how much we have left to raise. there have been a big handful of generous people from before this counter was made. I couldn't find one to include what we've already raised.
this counter is about an hour slow, though, which is unfortunate. :( it's accurate, but delayed a bit.
Let me break it down! :) We needed to raise $1000 to pay for 6 months. Yesterday, on Friday September 21, we managed to raise just a tiny bit over $400; the rest we needed is $600, so that's why the counter. :)

Also - to anyone to has generously donated so far, I know I have no yet replied to you, and I will do so tomorrow afternoon (Sunday September 23 around 2 pm EST) and you will be rewarded for your kindness. my cofounder and I are coming up with some special ideas.

Ahhh! Thanks for explaining! That seems like an awful lot of money!! Are their no cheaper hosts?
I donated yesterday but if it comes to it close to the deadline I might be able to squeeze some more

We've been kicked off of two other hosts because we kept crashing all their servers, so we had to buy our own server (and yes, there are cheaper dedicated servers, but not ones that can handle our load and traffic without constantly having down time). also, our host specializes in the efiction software that we use, so they know how to keep us running in top form. :)
believe us, it would've made life a lot easier if that wasn't the case. thanks so much for donating - don't feel like you have to double dip, you've done enough. :)

If the site (TH forbid) does go down for a while and then the 6 month payment is made, will everything still be here or does it have to be remade from scratch?

I realised I never typed my username when donating. Is that why I can't access the gold member lounge anymore or is just temp. down?

what if we donate and you already reach the goal? It still counts for the next right? Paypal still doesn't activate my account :/
