Notifications and Hotmail

Hey guys-

We've been having an issue with update and review notifications since switching servers. This problem seems to be almost exclusively affecting hotmail accounts. We believe that hotmail is blocking our notifications.

The one thing we can suggest is for you to create an account with yahoo or gmail just for use on THF. Add this new email to your account and see if you get notifications that way.

Also, a quick fix for those who aren't receiving notifications, but are not using hotmail, is to remove all notifications, save, refresh your account, and add the notifications back.

For those switching from hotmail to another email host, in hopes of receiving notifications, you may want to change the email in your account and then do the same thing with the preferences.

Let us know if switching from hotmail to a different email host works.

We're really sorry about the inconvenience of this, but there's practically nothing we can do to prevent hotmail from blocking our mail.

I received notifications today after 1 week of not receiving them... maybe it's fix now, if not, I'll create a different email account :)

I switched my main email to a gmail, and did a test review. I got the notification for it instantly. Hotmail = Grrr!

I posted a test review on one of my stories and responded to it and I got notifications both times. I'm still using hotmail, though. Maybe it's working again. :)

I use Yahoo and I haven't had any problems with it, just one time a message was sent into the Spam box, but I just unmarked it, and now it always shows on my inbox. In Hotmail, its the same, just mark the THF messages as a NOT Spam and, everything will be fine.
