N the reason behind the lie: running away from your father because he's abusive would be enough to scare you into hiding, so lies to protect your identity would be the first thing you'd do. the less people who know who you are, the safer you are. plus, as i'll explain in an upcoming chapter, bill crossed state lines with kale. (this takes place in the states). and here it's illegal to take a minor over state lines unless you are the legal guardian

Lightninged. That is a VERY good point. I say it that way too. But you know, apparently Shakespeare was allowed to make up words, so I don't see why you can't.
