Not wanting to be mean, but if, and that's a big if because I have no idea what's going on in your head, but IF this turns out to be one of those stories where they go to court, the mother gets custody and Bill's trying to fight back or something, I'm going to stop reading this, wait until it's done and then read the last chapter because I'm so tired of that kind of things.
Other than that I think the chapter was really good, even though I think Bill was overreacting a bit and that Tom had more right to be angry^^
But that's just me;)

Author's Response: I completely understand. I've read one too many stories where something like that happens. The only court thing that's going to happen is going to be in the beginning of the next chapter and that's it. Nothing else is going to come up about custody.
rnTom did have more right to be angry, but Bill was angry and upset that Tom wouldn't just come out and say those were the reasons they weren't together.

Ok...I think Tom should let Bill calm down. Obviously he's going through many emotions and tasks at this moment but still trust is really hard to build up again when it's broken...even when you're talking about the love of your life.
I like how you let Tom stay away for a while before going after Bill. That was like and indirect way to say 'I love you but you have to learn how to act because I'm not going to play the way you want me to' or at least for me that was implicit...
Also...I think Samantha has serious issues. It's totally true how a mother can be such an influence in their daughter's life and I like how you use it, though I think you must leave clear that Samantha's mother is not bad and mean because she wants to...it's just the way she is...
And wow...I was thinking that Samantha and Tom's next meeting was going to be explosive...I mean...meeting the guy you husband left you for it's a very fucking shocking thing...If I were on Samantha's feet I would probably slap Bill right there...
Now...I think the custody would go to Samantha if they go to court...yes, she left them but Bill was the one affecting their relationship first...but idk...I'm not a lawyer so I'm not sure... XD I can't wait to see what's going to happen about that.
It's realy good that you let us see Bill's way of feeling...it was good to know though I hope that doesn't convince Tom right away...they still need to get over serious issues. Obviously Tom doesn't foresee what's going to happen and either Bill does, so Tom having trusting issues and doubts it's totally fair...but I truly hope they get over all that shit...son soon but eventually...
Oh, oh! Also Bill is totally WRONG!! He can't say that Whitney have the right to know about their relationship! Even if she did help...a relationship is of two and when a thrid comes in the picture and all that it just leads to more troubles!! But yes! He is right about the part of Tom acting like a boyfriend...that I think he was acting like a friend but Bill wanted him to be a boyfriend but whatever...

Didn't you mean "You shouldn't have said that"? Also in other parts you used wouldn't of and I think it would sound better wouldn't have...but I'm not sure...maybe I get it in the wrong way...I guess...

Author's Response: I don't have much time to answer all of your review (in a rush to go to a lame meeting!) but I wanted to answer it before I posted another chapter and lost it in the next set of reviews! Bill isn't going to convince Tom right away, don't worry about that. I know how long it takes for people to get over something like what happened between Bill and Tom, so it's going to take a while for Tom to truly get over it. As for the Whitney thing, Bill just meant that she's their good friend, she was the reason that Bill called Tom again, so he felt like Whitney should know the truth, not that she should know everything about their relationship. And as for the whole grammar thing and have/of, I always try to re-read everything and fix little things like that, but because I write it, I never notice :( It's hard to notice little things like that when you're the one writing them. I don't have a beta so little mistakes are going to get through because I suck with grammar and stuff (don't ask me why I'm an english major. I won't be able to tell you!)

Aww, Tom is coming around and getting over his insecurity somewhat....as for this court thing!
By US standards, the court would so deny her full custody at least..probably give her supervised vistation. Bill has a strong case against Samantha just by her actions alone....even though she is going to therapy, if she still is.

I was almost worried about taking it to court, but a healty man with a good career (gay or not) would be better fit for being a parent than an unstable woman who had to see a counselor. So then Bill would most likely get full custody if anything.I kinda hope that happens xD
