There was no reason that Bill shouldn’t make a full recovery, the doctor had said, but there was also no guarantee that the singer’s voice wouldn’t be permanently damaged. – does laryngitis really damage the vocal chords? Or is that artistic license on your part?

“Tom won’t be joining us, will he?” Gustav asked, though it wasn’t really a question.
“No, he won’t,” Jost admitted, shifting his weight from one foot to the other.
“Dave, you know we can’t do those interviews,” Gustav said frankly. “I won’t do those interviews.” – oy TH interviews without Bill AND Tom? I’m not sure!

“So why the fuck aren’t you making Tom join us?” Gustav challenged.
“He can’t,” Georg broke in quietly, rubbing the bridge of his nose as he felt a headache coming on. “He can’t make Tom join us, not this time.” – lol

“So you did at least see Bill?” Gustav asked.
“Yeah,” Georg admitted awkwardly, searching for how to explain what had passed with the twins. “I had a fight with Tom first.”
“You did what?” Gustav asked – lol!!!

“You don’t even know the whole story,” Georg muttered, feeling like the kid who’d been scolded for having his hand in the cookie jar. It was embarrassing.
“Because you won’t tell me,” Gustav retorted, managing not to sound irritated despite the extensive grounds for annoyance that he had. - *wants to smack Gustav*

Beside him Gustav was silent, perhaps with a shy smile, but not about to say a word; he hadn’t let up on his decision not to help out even one iota. - *seriously wants to smack Gus!*

We will release both simultaneously everywhere at the end of June. – yeah we fucking wish!!! Gggrrrr!!!

“How about the twins?” Kathrin asked, smiling encouragingly. “We know they can get up to all sorts of mischief when they’re drunk. What did they do this time?”
“What?” Georg blurted out, caught off-guard as images of Bill astride Tom’s lap assailed his brain. It had really gone so far beyond mischief. – dirty, dirty boy! Just fake the question!

“Um, the twins, there’s been talk about them getting pretty drunk on you birthday?”
“Oh!” Georg exclaimed as he remembered how the twins had made up some sort of bantering competition over who was drunker back in their first interview. It was already too late of course, but he attempted to backtrack on his abrupt reaction as he sought to remember what they’d said. Unfortunately he’d been caught off guard and all he could draw was a blank. He fell back on another sheepish smile, “To be honest, I wasn’t awake to know.” – that was a pretty decent cover!

“What the hell was that?!” Jost demanded, the moment Georg walked into the dressing room with Gustav. It made Georg flinch. It was very rarely that they gave Jost any reason to yell at them like that and Georg really had this time. – it could have been MUCH worse. Don’t yell, give him interview tips and help him out. More flies with sugar and all that!

“You were checking her out on live television!” Jost exclaimed, unfolding his arms in order to gesture expansively – ok yeah you can yell at him about that lol!

“Just get ready both of you, okay? We need to leave soon.”
“Sure, Dave,” Gustav said, hands in his pockets as he remained slouched against the wall, showing no sign of moving to do as they’d been bidden.
“Now?” Jost prompted, eyeing him.
“With you watching?” Gustav asked, raising an eyebrow. “Kinky fuck.”
“Just hurry up,” Jost told them, though he was fighting a smile as he headed out. – lol very, very funny!

“You’ll table dance for €1000, but you won’t talk.” – lol actually it was €750 from each one of the guys. OMG that was so funny. You know they only released it because there was so many youtube videos of it lol!!!

“You’ve been doing well,” Gustav told him, as though the compliment excused his non-participation in the vast majority of the interviews. Georg was pleased nonetheless; Gustav didn’t say things he didn’t mean, even when they were offered up as token gestures. – good job Gus, thank you for being nice to him.

“God, how does Bill even do it?”
“Tom,” Gustav answered, surprising Georg since the question had been intended as rhetoric. “He relies on Tom.”
“I guess,” Georg said, feeling awkward as he was reminded for the first time since discovering the twins together that the pair of them did actually have a deep relationship outside of what Georg had seen. – still! Oy!

“You need to go and see them.”
“Fine,” Georg huffed. “Once we’re done here, I’ll go. That do you?”
“You aren’t doing this for me,” Gustav pointed out. “But yes.” - *still wants to smack Gus over the head*

Gustav broke off as they heard a door closing nearby.
“Shit,” Georg breathed. It suddenly seemed horribly possible that someone had been listening in, and they were about to walk into a live interview. – oh lord!

Author's Response: It wasn't artistic license on my part - laryngitis does have the potential to causing lasting damage when it's serious (which Bill's is in how it's portrayed here), but it's a slim chance and I think it was dependant on whether the illness is respected properly. I'm no doctor though, that was just based on the research I did in order to find something which fit the prompt's remit. Severe laryngitis is unusual, but potentially less so in singers that strain themselves - I think it was also linked to things like vocal cysts, making it appropriate, if horrifying for Bill.

With the euros - Tokio Hotel TV subbed it as being 500 each, which was why I'd used 1000. If they mistranslated that or something though, then I stand corrected - I just figured it'd be reliable on there lol! I'm very glad you still seemed to be enjoying this though, even if Gustav's infuriating unruffled behaviour was getting to you as much as it did Georg ^_^

“I can hold my alcohol better than you!” Georg retorted with indignation, despairing of the cupboards and heading back into the lounge to see how Gustav was getting on.
“Yes, but I can exercise moderation,” Gustav retorted, looking up from the wiring and brushing his hands on his shirt. “A concept you never understand, as proven by your birthday.” – point!

In his mind’s eye he could see the twins curled up asleep together. He and Gustav had caught them that way many times over the years, never dreaming the depravity that apparently accompanied the seeming innocence. - *grimace*

“Don’t think you should?” Gustav asked him, just a hint of challenge to it.
“Nope,” Georg said – I totally agree!

“I’m answering more questions now. We’re good.”
There was another minute or so of quiet, and then Gustav asked, “You don’t seriously think anyone believes that excuse, do you?” – O_O

Georg scowled at the game as Gustav continued to surge ahead, “Guess not.”
“And?” Gustav prompted.
“Guess that’s their problem,” – um way to avoid!

It wasn’t Bill though, it was Tom. – hum?!

“Take it you arranged this with Gus?”
“Yeah,” Tom agreed, stepping inside and looking around awkwardly. “His idea.”
“Why am I not surprised?” Georg asked – ass!

“Or you could just tell me,” Tom suggested, finally looking over at Georg seriously.
“I can’t,” Georg disagreed, shaking his head. If Tom knew, Tom would just have to come out and say so.
“You said you hated us,” Tom pointed out, and the hurt flashed through his expression as well as complete confusion. “Hated him.” - *grimace* nope Tom doesn’t know and it hurts…he’d be pissed if he knew what was really wrong. *grins*

“You ask him.”
“He’s sick,” Tom protested. “Just tell me.” – Sick…there’s something wrong here, not sick, something else.
“No,” Georg said shortly. – Thank you for not blowing it up in Bill’s face. Let Bill do the dirty work.

Georg didn’t see why he had to feel like such a wanker over the ordeal. He wasn’t the one fucking his own brother. – it’s cause it’s like shooting fish in a barrel. They don’t to be worried.

“You want to hate them though,” Gustav said mildly, no censure in his voice.
The pronouncement made Georg sit up sharply, looking over at his friend, “Of course I don’t!”
“Are you sure about that?” Gustav challenged – very observant!

“Go tell that to Bill,” Gustav said simply, as though this would be the easiest thing in the world. “Explain your issue to him and maybe he can help.”
“But—” Georg began to protest, unwilling to surrender. Telling Bill that he didn’t hate him but rather that he just wanted to hate him would seem like Georg was apologising for his reaction; he couldn’t do that. – lol cause apologising is so much worse then loosing friends.

No ‘buts’ Listing,” Gustav interrupted, pausing the game and looking at him seriously. “It’s simple, really. What’s more important to you – keeping your friends, or winning the argument?” – ha ha! That’s what I said.

It was almost enough of an excuse for him to give the venture up until a tiny voice, sounding remarkably like Gustav, pointed out that if he did, he’d just end up finding a succession of excuses every time he tried. – ha ha my voice sounds like my mum!

a less than composed Tom Kaulitz – who’s over and what are they doing?

“Get out,” Tom snapped, eyes flicking back to Georg as Tom suddenly realised what Georg was about and increased his pressure on the door. “Just go away!”
“No,” Georg refused, resisting Tom’s attempts to expel him with effort and eventually simply shoving the door so hard that Tom was sent reeling backwards, narrowly avoiding falling on his ass. Georg was too worried to apologise, instead demanding, “Tell me what’s going on.” – I’m so curious!

“Don’t you fucking dare,” Tom gritted out, holding his cheek where Georg had caught him and taking a couple of steps forward.
Georg took one look at him, then the stairs, and then he shoved Tom backward into the couch again and took off for Bill’s bedroom at a run. “Bill?!”
“Listing!” Tom shouted angrily from behind him – lol there fucking 6 year olds!

“His voice is gone,” Tom told him coldly. His expression was glacial, even hateful, when he looked back at Georg. Each word did more damage that any of the blows had earlier, though Georg’s jaw still ached painfully. “So I guess you got what you wanted.” – lol so melodramatic!

Author's Response: Writing this whole chapter and the exchanges between Tom and Georg was a lot of fun, precisely for the reasons you mentioned - they are being such boys about it, like kids, and Gustav starts stepping into it to interfere, without babying anyone. And yus, Tom's totes melodramatic at the end, but he has to say it on Bill's behalf ^_~ Thanks ♥

It was easy for Bill to look animated as he answered all the questions, but managing to keep smiling and looking alert when you were totally disengaged from the conversation? – plaster on a smile and look at the interviewer, that’s all it takes.

“Tom had far too much, too,” Bill cut in, laughing. “He was giggling like a school girl and passed out on my bed. I had to push him out the way so I could get in!” – they’re hiding in plain sight because who would really believe it?

Georg sat numbly, smile fixed to his face, and tried not to feel relieved that the questions never came back to him again. He was instantly furious at Bill for making him grateful to him for anything after all that had happened. – I guess Bill isn’t horrified that Georg found out otherwise he’d be in as much trouble as Georg is that morning. But he’s had to cover this up, presumably, a long time, so he should know how to cover!

“Geez, Bill,” Gustav chuckled. “You know how hard it’ll be to find someone as in love with you as you are with yourself?” – lol

“Listing!” Gustav snapped, jerking Georg’s attention away from the twins for a moment. It forced Georg to take in the faces of the others in the room, the mass of confusion and the additional hurt on Tom’s face, as though he’d just been sucker punched. Georg found himself abruptly wanting to backpedal, horrified at what he was hauling into the open and the way he was doing it. – oh lord!!! They need some not in front of other people time soon!!!!

Bill opened his mouth, but Georg didn’t let him speak as he levelled a shaking finger at him, “Don’t you dare, Bill, don’t you dare. I hate you right now, you get it? Both of you can just go—” he broke off, a slightly bitter laugh escaping him, “Yeah, you can go fuck yourselves. I’m gone.” - *gasp* oh god! I don’t think that Bill handled that as well as he could have!

“What’s really going on, Georg? If you don’t tell me then I can’t fix this.”
“There’s nothing,” Georg lied, and it was bitter on his tongue when Jost had sounded so tired with the lot of them. In his mind’s eye Georg also saw Tom’s hurt, Gustav’s confusion and Bill’s panic. He cringed at having caused it all, and yet juxtaposed to it was the image of Tom and Bill entwined as they had been when he caught them. – Oh poor Georg. He’s so overwhelmed with what he’s just seen. He hasn’t really had time to process it. He had to act normal so quickly after such an immense shock.

And this was what made it quite so difficult when Bill decided to drop him in it in the middle of their third interview. The question had nothing to do with Georg, and at that exact moment it was just about the worst question Georg could’ve been forced to answer. – oh god!

That they’re fucking each other, Georg thought flatly as he held Bill’s eyes. Except that they both knew that he couldn’t answer with that, and that was the whole reason that Bill had dropped him in it like this. – Oh My God! I’m so surprised he didn’t just walk out there!

“So, the all important question, do you think a girl could ever come between the twins?” Oliver asked, utterly ignorant of the territory into which he’d strayed.
Georg swallowed back the bile rising in his throat, shaking his head with a smile. “I used to think so, but now I’m certain they couldn’t.”
And it wasn’t a lie at all; that made it so much worse. – aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

Author's Response: I think what delighted me most about your response here was how much you obviously sympathised with Georg's feelings, whilst still appreciating Bill was making a mess too. Thanks for that ♥

His mouth felt horribly dry, his teeth fuzzy and, where some inconsiderate arsehole had failed to draw the curtains fully, the cheerful light of day stabbed him through the eyes like rusty needles. – awesome description!

He was lying, facedown, in the wreckage of the twins’ living room following what had supposedly constituted a few quiet drinks and had actually panned out more along the lines of Georg getting totally off his face. Nothing the twins organised ever ended up tame so Georg supposed he should have known better. – lol that’s awesome!

It was with disbelief that he realised he might actually still be somewhat drunk. – OMG that’s afwul!

Gustav helped him to hold his hair back out of the way, murmuring with distaste, “God that’s disgusting.”
“I hate you,” Georg moaned pitifully, but he accepted the glass of water when Gustav put that into his hand next. “And I will never thank you for this.”
“I’m sure I’ll live,” Gustav said – lol!!!

He was faced with Tom’s naked back, covers pooled at his hips, and astride Tom’s lap was an equally naked Bill. Bill was looking over Tom’s shoulder, wrapped around his twin, and he met Georg’s gaze without flinching as he whispered in Tom’s ear, “I love you, too, Tomi.” – oh god what a way to find out!

Outside, Georg threw up again before he felt able to get into his car and drive away. He could neither accept nor deny what he had witnessed; he only knew how incredibly wrong it had been. - *giggles* must be awful!

What?!” Bill snapped with unexpected vehemence. His eyes were the coldest Georg had ever seen – a phenomenal contrast to the false warmth with the rest of the band – and it actually provoked Georg to take a step back as Bill pressed him, “Are you trying to get us caught?!”
“What?!” Georg asked – nice!

“What? Incest?” Georg asked, quite gratified when Bill looked like he’d been slapped in the face. “No, you’re right, I don’t get it. I think you’re a pair of sick fucks and maybe I’ll go tell David now.”
There was a long moment of silence wherein they stared each other down, Georg barely daring to believe he’d said it and Bill clearly attempting to determine if Georg had meant it.
“No, you won’t,” Bill said at last, utterly certain. - I know that feeling, knowing someone so well you can predict them, very nice.

“Stay away from Tomi, Georg. He doesn’t need to know about this.” – why not?

Author's Response: Well, I'm glad to see it sounds like you're enjoying it even if you're cringing lol. As far as Bill protecting Tom goes, that's kinda my personal canon - that Bill would be a lot more certain and prepared to fight dirty for their relationship where as Tom could be more likely to panic. The request at the time wanted newly established twincest for the twins, so that was how I saw that going for them.

I loved it. In most twincest stories that I've read, the G's are either fine with it or never speak to the twins again. I liked the different perspective.

Author's Response: Thanks! ^_^ I think perhaps it's just a very difficult issue to deal with, and unless you set your mind to focusing on the point of view of Georg or Gustav, it's all too easy to have them react with either a quick acceptance or out and out hatred. I'm very glad you enjoyed it!

Very good read, I enjoyed it being written from Georg's POV. Well done! ^^ You're one of the few people whom I've seen handling the twincest issue in a *really* serious, realistic way.

In many stories the G's (or other people) come around quite fast to twin loving ("somehow we've always known", "actually I'm not that surprised"), and it can work if it's a humorous fic anyway. But if NOT...then it's a bit unsatisfying. Incest doesn't tend to be normal in the real world. Georg's reaction in 'Ask Me No Questions' is plausible, like I imagine any person would react initially. Feeling nauseous, really disturbed...I love how you've written him. Pretty early he notices that he doesn't hate the twins for it - in a way his repulsion shows the contrary, that he cares, because he sees them doing something wrong and feels too much for them to not be hurt by it. Yes...and I love how you've written him doubting his own feelings - how he has to reassures himself: it IS wrong, THEY have to apologize. But then he's not always sure of that himself.

Sorry, I feel like I'm rambling. Point is: I think you've really nailed it! A psychologically very sound portrayal. Me likes! ^^

Author's Response: This was very much intended to be as realistic as I could make it, so I'm so pleased that you found it that way. I really enjoyed writing it, especially exploring the friendship between the twins and Georg, since I think more twin-centric fics lead you away from that. At any rate, thank you for a lovely review and I'm really glad you liked it ^_^

I am so happy to see this featured! I read it on FQF and it was just lovely, and it's just as wonderful of a read now.

It's so different to see the twins' relationship from someone's perspective that is not them. As much as I am a twincester I really feel for Georg, thinking that what they are doing is wrong and being unable to talk to anyone about it, or even really express those feelings, since Bil is sick and Tom doesn't know, and of course Georg can't really tell anyone else. Gustav to the rescue, though! I love seeing Gustav being wise and perceptive in fic. I really think that is what he is like in the band, a voice of reason.

I thought the way you wrote Tom and Bill was very sweet, too, and it's obvious how much they care for each other and how close they are, even without hearing their inner thoughts. The way Tom obviously cares for Bill, and allowing Bill to decide if they're going to forgive Georg, is very them, I think.

Thank you for this! It's wonderful.

Author's Response: I was incredibly shocked to see it featured, lol! Thank you so much though.rnrnI really enjoyed writing the fic, particularly with it being from another character's pov. I imagine that without the fest, I probably would've taken a long time to move outside the inclusion of just the twins in most fics. I'm thrilled that so many people seem to have enjoyed it though - I honestly thought that being from Georg's pov, it'd immediately get bypassed by a lot of people outside the fest.rnrnThank you again for another lovely review; I'm still a little blown away by the feedback I've gotten lol.
