I've squealed over this story since the first few little pieces you sent me. You were just in love with it but didn't know if anyone else would be, and I poked you and poked you for more. I love these characters, I love the tone, I love the description. There's nothing about it I don't love.
I'm so glad to finally see the first bit posted, and you know I'm going to be watching your reviews, as always. It makes me crazy happy when your readers love your story as much as I do, and even happier when they make you happy.

It pained me to get the author alert for this story and then have to wait ALL DAY to read it. [O HAI Monday Updates! That's even better than Thursday updates, because Monday's usually suck. Now I have something to look forward to.]
Of course, I already love it. I love period pieces like this. It started out really great with that description of the mansion. It gave me a very good visual. I can just see sprawling grounds with rolling hills, all that good stuff. It kind of reminds me of the mental image I had for the house Thrushcross Grange from Wuthering Heights. And "Tokechester Hall?" Lovely name. ;)
I can just see bb!Tom on a pony too. Awww. :D Dumb Georg for leaving him, but I guess if it was so he could have a better life. At least he's happy among the horses. Which is adorable.
Now, I am intrigued by this Elizabeth character. I interested to see where that will go. I feel like Elizabeth will be a major player in this story. The remarks at the end about breaking through shells left it open ended for a great plot...
So great start on this. Very interested to read the rest. :]

I felt sorta bad for Tom, about Georg leaving, he could have said goodbye. This makes him seem like a bad person and I don't think he is. I guess you explanation was good but what will Tom think? That Georg won't want him? Depressing!
Lady Elizabeth wouldn't happen to be a cross dresserr by the name of Bill would she? You've done it before I wouldn't put it past you to do it again.
Tom seems fairly open but I'm assuming the shell you were talking about was his refusal to let his real personality shine through? Or something else?

Author's Response: LOL Bruno is a common horse name, but I'd definitely not name my kid that xD and yes, trying to get some sort of difference in the speaking, not anything major, but not way too modern. aw, I felt bad about Georg leaving, too, but I didn't really want to make him a bad person, more like one who thought of what was best for Tom and also what would be best for himself, it can't be easy dragging around on your little brother for the rest of your life either. As for Miss Elizabeth, I'm not ruling anything out, but I'd advice you to keep an eye on her and not jump to conclutions.
