Author's Response: I understand. I think everyone feels pretty much the same way. But Tom's not going to just fall in love with Bill and foreswear all others. That would be way too easy, not to mention unrealistic.rnrnGlad you liked how I handled the TomxBill interaction. I created somewhat of an impasse with the rape and having each character set in his ways. I didn't want it to seem as if Bill was giving up. rnrnThanks for the review!

Author's Response: Het sex doesn't weird me out until I have to write it. And when I'm writing it, I kind of have to force the words out; it doesn't flow like slash sex does. Still, I tried to make it sexy. rnrnI understand your sentiments, but I put the het sex in to remind everyone that Tom isn't just going to fall right in love with Bill and foreswear all others. That would be way too sappy and unrealistic for my tastes.

I do think that it was rape what Tom did. If you think of rape in a more broader terms then the simple initial refusal of Bill in the beginning is enough to constitute non-consensual sex in my opinion. I think of it as comparable to sexual molestation in a way. Some people are molested for years and though they don't resist over time they still are being violated. It's basically a power struggle; Tom gave Bill the ultimatum of being physically forced and held down or to compliantly lay there and let it happen. If a person is raped they do not necessarily have to struggle in the process, the person initiating to sexual act should stop if other person says not etc.
Well aside from that, I stumbled upon this story after seeing that it had been updated. I always wanted to know what had happened after the rape scene so I'm glad you wrote additional chapters. I love this fic so continue to update please. I think that it's written well and though the subject matter is controversial in a way I think that you're doing a great job of illustrating it in the story.

That's fine; part of the point of the ambiguity was so that each person could make their own decision about it.
