Author's Response: I don't think Bill was so worried that Tom regretted being with Bill all those years but was worried that Tom felt he'd missed out on a big part of life that he couldn't have with Bill. Fear doesn't always listen to logic, especially when matters of the heart are involved. :)

Well, this took me long enough!

I like how you immediately give us a hint of their age at the very beginning so that it doesn’t come as a total shock. This way I can also imagine them as older from the start and not have to adapt my image of them along the way.

And Tom doing the sniff test…such a nice detail because I can’t picture him doing that irl being as young as he is.

The couple remind me of Tom and Bill.

So amazingly cute that Bill still calls his brother ‘Tomi’

This is so beautiful it hurts, darling. Goes straight to my heart and stays there like a big aching thing of both sadness and content, because that’s just how life goes, but even if it’s meant to be that way, that doesn’t make it any easier! I think there are so many things about this fic that I’m still wondering about, where their music went, what about their mother, dealing with getting older…but I don’t think those things could have been included here because it would have brought off the balance you’ve made. It is fluffy, but there’s an underlying sad thing about it all, and still that sadness is overpowered a thousand times by the love you manage to radiate from the characters. You’re quite exceptional girl, I don’t think anyone else would have been able to write this and make me want to cry and smile at the same time, equal amounts of sad and happy!

Oh, it's so beautiful. So achingly beautiful. I like how simple it is, just as their love is so simple in its inevitability. But, God, I have difficulty imagining them old and wrinkled! No way are they going to get old and wrinkled. Bill and Tomi are forever young! And you know what? I think this is kind of the message of your story.
Or at least for me.:)

And yes, I believe it's true. They still look the same to each other because love doesn't see age spots and gnarled fingers. They are still so beautiful to each other, and man, that's an amazing thought, isn't it?
