Two chapters! How did I miss one!? Or did you post them together? At least it made for a nice long read ^^ and I especially liked the whole David connection thing -- very clever.
Here's a question -- does the Emperor ever get embarrassed? I think Tom needs to explain to him why tongue studs are so appealing, just so we can see a pretty blush on his face for once ;)

E does get embarrassed, but he's more or less trained himself out of really reacting to it. Showing embarrassment (or a whole freaking RANGE of other emotions) during negotiations and such tend to work against a person. Alone with Tom, however, he can let those guards down and could most definitely blush most prettily. <3

E's definitely attracted to Bill, history and all, but he's not there for Bill, he's there for Tom. His affection for Tom is stronger than any residual lust he may have for Bill. That doesn't mean it's easy on him, though.

Considering the content of the story (alternate realities and Tom being royalty and all), I thought that the romance between the pair should be at least halfway believable. It needed build up, time to take root in Tom's head first, get him adjusted to the idea instead of just going 'hi there, let's bang!' AND I wanted the readers to like E and want him and Tom to be together. <3
