Bill's letters are so artistic, so full of color and life, as it seems he's trying to insert some life into the place he is in now. The whole cookie argument made me giggle out loud in the library. :p

Poor guys. I can't imagine what it would be like to be without fresh air for such long periods of time, to be stuck inside like that. I can see Bill getting squirrely and anxious. Tom's letters seem to be getting increasingly depressed, too. Maybe that's normal for guys who just get over there, especially during the holiday season.

Damn, that hurt. Really, physically hurt. You did so well.
The characterization here is fabulous. That's all. I can see Bill trying to stay positive, but he seems to be actually breaking inside more than Tom. Maybe Tom feels like he needs to be strong, because he knows Bill's bravery is a front. And the girls. Yvonne held back from Bill so long and now she's just given her entire heart, no holding back. It's wonderful, and it's painful because you know she's going to be devestated soon. And Anna. She's a good match for Tom. I'm so curious to see what you're going to do with them.
