I don't normally review a story without having something to say about the story itself, but in this case, since everyone is making their views known, I'd like to do the same. Remy, this comment isn't directed only towards you, nor does it mean to refute/agree with your claim; I simple have something to say on the matter and since the incident I want to comment on is public, it makes sense that my comment would be as well.
The thing is, I've been in this position before; where I have critiqued a story, harshly at times, but always honestly - and I got reamed by the readers for saying anything negative. First of all, I do believe Aibari's review can be counted as constructive criticism, because from what I can see it is given with the intention of helping the author improve - suggestions to make the story, in her eyes, better. In no part of that do I see her insulting the author personally, or bashing the story - simply stating in a manner that yes, may sound condescending, but then again, that's dependent on perception.
What I find myself angry about here is that Aibari is getting called out for, in essence, choosing to speak her mind and in this case, disagree with the majority of the people that love the fic. You mention the fact that she hasn't written anything for the fandom as if that means her opinion doesn't count for anything - I respect you, Remy, as an author very much so, but even if you hadn't been a great writer I would respect your opinion and take it seriously, especially if it was critique. I also don't think that a story's merit can be judged based on how popular it is or how many reviews it has - and while it seems like I'm taking this way too seriously (it's just a fic and it looks like I'm creating unnecessary drama, yeah?) it's not this particular incident I'm opposed to so much as this mentality of bearing down on someone who chose to speak their mind when everyone else around them was saying something different.
This is the most open and supportive, well-run fiction site I have ever been on, and I love it here. But at times like this, I feel like I don't really belong because I often speak my mind and I often hold nothing back. I think posting fiction on a public site is asking for people's opinions in itself and the author should be prepared for whatever those opinions may be. I think firelucy handled the critique very well and she can choose to disregard it considering there are so many other people who refute it - but I do not want to be looked down upon or hated because I read a fic, disliked it, and chose to tell the author why instead of walking away.

This is a shout out to anyone who thinks they have anything to say about anything that is not this particular fic PLEASE KEEP IT AWAY FROM MY REVIEWS ! It puts a bad light to my story that I do not want here and I think it is unfair to let this affect me.

This story is so cute! Like, it's so really fluffy - by far the fluffiest story I've ever read, but that's okay, because fluff is my favorite genre. You should write more stories like this, really.
I really love the Christmas atmosphere in the story, the presents, the funny things, the kisses, the polar bear skin, how they always cuddle... I especially liked the scene where Bill covered the Gs in snow and Tom took the blame.
The plot is also very original, and the beginning where they just knew who the other was even if they never met before, it was so.. magical :-)
I totally understand how you already have so many reviews and favorites... It's one of the nicest stories I've read!
