Indeed, beautiful and very... clear, with a killing end. Also, the quote from Siken (and I dug up the whole story) is very very good.

Author's Response: oh, awesome, i'm so glad you liked it! yeah, Siken is very cool.

"they're really quite different than the English versions of the songs."

Ugh, that hurts. I feel so deprived. ;[

Author's Response: yeah it's kind of weird. it's just, it wouldn't sound right, though. like there's something in Schrei about a "rat catcher" which is the name for like... the German Pied Piper. & nobody would get the reference if that was translated directly, you know?

Oh, God that was so gooood. I've wondered about the differences in lyrics before, and I still have no answers. When you try to translate the German to English without knowing any, you end up with shit and sentences that don't really mean anything. Have you ever thought of posting a complete translation of some of their original songs? I would love you for it. But anyway, I loved this concept of the boys talking about their music. I haven't seen that much in fanfic. I hope to see much more from you in the future! :)

Author's Response: i think it's to do with rhyming, & sometimes there are phrases or references in German that make no sense in English. i actually got my friend to translate 'Schrei' & 'Durch Den Monsun' word-for-word & they're really quite different than the English versions of the songs.

*claps* That was awesome. Words fail. I like the emotion, the quiet and the loud, beautifully crafted like part of the scenery. Your imagery was exquisite and finely tuned, nothing seemed out of place or overly loud. Amazing work.

Author's Response: thank you so much, wow. i really appreciate it, & i'm so glad you enjoyed this!

Ohmygosh. You win at LIFE. That last line kind of killed me by the way.

And you should totally know who this is. Cause I'm lame and use the same name for everything. XD

Author's Response: i'm glad you like it <3

yea i agree w/ tom. I like their songs so much more in German. You know....but when i watch them perform i forget about what they're saying all together.

Author's Response: yeah i definitely like the literal German translations better than the official English versions. i guess they did have to make it rhyme in English, though. but yeah, i agree... it really doesn't matter if they're speaking German, English or like... Chinese when they're onstage!
