Author's Response: Simple: erasing Tom from everyone's memories, if I don't know, seven years passed and he never woke up, people would begin to wonder what happened to him. And Freezing him will make his body stay at it's physical appearence of 15 so that when he woke up, he wouldn't have lost any of his life due to a coma. Sorry for the long explination!
