Very touching. I noticed that this year's pictures of Bill shows that he has lost weight that he can't afford to lose. Hope nothing is wrong and that he will regain the lost pounds soon. Seems to be using heavier makeup too...maybe to mask his tiredness perhaps? But this is a lovely fic and I feel you got the reality of their situation.

So many of these things I have thought of Bill, myself: he is too pale, too thin, too tired to keep going as they have. That there are definitely two Bill's, the hard outer one is the one we see.
This was so strange for me to read, it was as if you took my thoughts, extrapolated on them and wrote them down in the the most poetic and moving way.

this is gorgeous. the way you choose your words makes it seem so...true. i can really see tom saying this while looking at his tired baby brother. you know the saying "a picture is worth a thousand words"? well, you've definitely taken the best ones for this story, cheesy as that sounds :P
