I remember reading this fic ages ago, and it still makes me cry. God, how I love bittersweet things. I understand Bill though, more than I should probably: I myself absolutely abhor change. The ending fits in every well, and the atmosphere you create around Tom just screams guilt and resignition. I love this one so much, even though it hurts to read it. Thanks for posting it. :)

Aww it was so sad and so good at the end!
I loved how you added Georg and Gustav into the plot, and Georg's character was amazing, it brought such a real nostalgia (though, it's somewhat non-existent because, you know, it's just a story of their future), that was a wonderful experience. As if looking back to who they used to be and who they are now.
The line about they were getting old and it didn't matter at all was so sensual. I nearly cried. But still, it was such a pity that they really were getting old, they weren't looking and feeling how they used to when they were young and full of strength, full of youth. They WERE getting old. But it's better later than never and I am glad Bill got around and came to Tom. From then on, they would have each other, and that is the most important thing that matters.

I was kind of...deliberating with how I should poke the G's into this story; I didn't want to kill them off or anything. :P And I have to say, the line about them getting old is my favorite line in the whole story!
