I can go both ways... Of course it would be nice if everything Bill is believing would be true, but then on the other hand... If Bill has constructed this whole elaborate world of aliens, it would be nice if Tom could be the one who "rescues" Bill...

The ending of this chapter really moved me. I guess I'm starting to understand Bill a little bit better. This 'everybody aroud me is a monster or not human' is just another way of saying : 'how can they be so cruel to me? Humans dont treat each other like this, so surely they are not human' or smtg like that. Maybe he is really a loon, but he is more like very very lonely and Tom is the only one who treats him as a person and so Tom has proven his humanity.
I like how you his this very very sad message under the cover of a lot of hilarity and endearing excentricity and strangeness. I cant wait for Tom to realise some of this and then...but I'm sure you know:)

This is much too amusing not to comment on. It's fantastic in such an odd, endearing way; Bill's personality seems to capture everything that socially awkward people have, except he doesn't realize it's awkward. Simply amazing.
