Wow, I feel so awkward for each of them when I'm reading how they interact. I mean, there's nothing wrong with how either of them is acting and everything is understandable but somehow the tension is so palpable. Can't wait to see what happens.
Also, I reread the story from the start (to remember the plot) and this chapter seems to flow, so there's no discontinuity.
