Uh oh, Andi's here. Bad Simone, bad. At least I think it's bad. Andi is, for lack of a better term, an "enabler". He enables and encourages Bill's destructive behavior even though I'm sure he understands Bill better than anyone at this point. And it's clear from Bill's conversation with his mom that he feels plenty misunderstood and hurt. I'm guessing this has to do with his father's untimely death?

So yeah, I'm not usually an Andi lover. I read too many fics where he's the obstacle between Bill and Tom and it's sort of poisoned me against him in stories. *shrugs* To each his own, however. Everone else seems to be truly excited he's here, but I'm apprehensive. He seems to be a good friend, but like I said above...enabler. He doesn't encourage Bill to do the best things either.

This new dynamic WILL prove to be highly interesting though. I'm sure poor Tom is going to feel even more shut out of Bill's life than he already is now that Andi's there and I'm sure he'll probably walk in on a couple of questionable moments too.

And I wonder how Andi will perceive Tom? Will he get along with him or find him prudish like Bill does? Inquiring minds want to know. :D

Poor Tom though. I feel for him, I truly do. He's got that whole "good kid" syndrome where parents expect more from him and for him to be the better person when dealing with Bill. Sometimes I am sure Tom doesn't want to be the better, more mature person. Sometimes I think Tom just wants to give up and go about his business and have everyone stop telling him to "keep trying with Bill". I mean, a person can only try so much, right? Right.

So yeah, he's already feeling out of sorts with Bill there, and now Andi is visiting. I'm sure he's got to be feeling rather "Ugh" right now with the whole rotten situation. At least that would be how I'd feel if I were in that situation.

So yeah, I'm looking forward to the inevitable drama that is sure to be caused by Andi's surprise visit, but I'm still not really an Andi fan, if that makes any sense.

As usual, your characters are vivid and the imagery superb. I am loving that you are back, missy. :DDD

I don't want to give away anything, so I'd rather not comment on the Andi situation ;) All I can say is: he won't be there for long, so no worries about this turning into a long Bill/Andi/Tom triangle! rnrnAnd oh yeah, the "good kid" syndrome. And I really-really love this story! I almost didn't understand it was updated before! I went to my tracked stories, and though I saw THIS there, I was like.... okay I already read it a few days ago.... blahblahblah... And about half an hour later I discovered that it was updated AGAIN :D

Oh wow. This was completely in character, so...yay! :DDD You have absolutely nothing to worry about.

Now, on plot breakdown: Oh dear, Bill is still quite the prickly little bitch isn't he? But, to be honest, that is what makes me both like and hate him. He's so abrasive and rude and I want Tom to just whack him sometimes--or like all the time--but I know there's a pretty messed up kid in there somewhere. The thing is, I haven't figured out yet if Bill even wants to change or not. Or let down his guard or not. And even when or if he does, I don't want him to suddenly turn into this sweet, smiling, adorably happy Bill 24/7. I kind of want him to be softer, more willing to let people in, but also still be fiesty--does that make sense?

I guess I'm tired of Bill being all doe eyed and wimpy in stories. He's a guy. He can be a nice person without acting all sappy and wimpy, you know? That's what really makes me like your characterizations of Bill. They're all so different and intriguing. From being a gentle, confused brother in Darkroom, to sweetly naive and troubled in Barefoot, to the misunderstood loner in Valentines, to the average guy who just broke up with his boyfriend in Breakup, to the very mysterious and strange in Numb for Love and now the coke sniffing manslut bitch in Oh Brother...well they are all just a joy to read. I have to commend you.

I like that Tom basically cockblocked Bill with Jose. And Bill should be thankful that Tom did it himself--and didn't take it to his dad and Bill's mom. I know Bill is a bitch and spoiled, but he's forgetting just where this could have all ended up, so he should be counting his lucky stars. :D

Bill, while entertaining though, still is an enigma to me. I know he's a very caustic person and prickly at best...but I wonder if a lot of this is facade. I think there was a reference made earlier that Bill was a LOT different before his dad died so I hope we get more glimpses into that. What made him start to treat people like shit and act out and turn to coke?

Also an enigma: The latest few chapters you kind of have shifted gears a little bit--and I like the slow build up of their relationship; it's more believable in this instance. But I hope I'm not imagining the subtle shift in the beginning stages of attraction for Tom and Bill. It's a constant push/pull dynamic between the two of them and I hope I'm picking up on what you want us all to pick up. For instance, Bill's really odd desire to have Tom see him sucking Jose off. Was it only just to fuck with Tom's head or was it to show Tom--albeit subconsciously--how good Bill is at that particular skill? Then the smoking weed together and falling asleep in the same bed and Bill tryiing to explain his bisexual nature and how good it is to fuck and be fucked. Tom didn't get it and Bill muttered he could show him sometime (or something to that effect). It's these cases where I'm wondering if Bill is even aware of what he's saying here and if he's joking around or being quite serious. You know?

Next it's walking in on Tom in the shower and the "I can help you with that." comment. Again, you have to wonder if he's just messing around or if he is being slightly--or very--serious about what he's saying. Next, the lounging on the bed and listening to Tom in the shower...was he really able to hear Tom and was he serious when he told him he sounded hot when he climaxed. Again, it's hard to read if Bill is being truly serious or not or if he just likes pushing Tom's buttons and isn't serious at all.

I find it amusing that Tom, instead of facing these comments head on, he just sort of gets uncomfortable and shrugs them off. He still hasn't mastered the art of giving as good as he's getting, although I think he's starting to learn. *pets Tom*

So yeah, I really am curious as to how serious Bill is with his comments OR maybe Bill just thinks he's joking but subconsciously means everything he's saying, but just doesn't realize it yet. And I caught that little slip of Tom's when he was yelling at Bill about the coke: "...You're beautiful!..."

And neither of them realized just what he said right there. :DDD

So I'm hoping I'm not just making all this up and I'm actually picking up on what us readers are supposed to pick up on.

Author's Response: I have to say, you really do know how to break down stories, pick out the significant parts and analyse them. My English Lit. teacher would have loved you! And no, you are not making any of this up, you actually really picked up on everything! Sometimes I add those little significant situations or even just a word, not really expecting my readers to pick up on it yet, but rather realize later on 'Oh that's why he did this/said this' but you honestly pick up on everything straight away! Impressive, haha :) And no, you're not imagining the slight shift in their relationship towards each other, it's actually happening ;) I try to take it as slow as possible and I'm always a little worried of over-doing it (as in, suddenly they are way more nicer to each other than before which would come across as unrealistic) so sometimes these, let's say, 'things' I write that trigger this slight shift are so subtle most people don't pick them up at all, I wouldn't be surprised if some readers hadn't even picked up the slow build up of their relationship and might only realize later 'oh yeah, I should have noticed when they did this/said that' or something, you know? But you really did pick up on everything as far as I can see from what you've mentioned! And yes, Bill is quite the enigma. Does he really mean what he says or does he do it on purpose only to annoy Tom? OR does he say it jokingly but actually means it, or doesn't realize he means it? Well I guess not even Bill's fucked up head knows that just yet, but we'll hopefully find out what's really up with him as the story progresses ;) Thanks for the review, I'm glad you liked it, I love your reviews, it's always interesting to read about the little things you've picked up on in my chapters, and what you think they might mean or trigger throughout the story :D

No worries here either, they're not out of character at all. :) If anything, I'm more pissed at Bill than ever for being so rude to Tom and I'm so sorry for Tom for being treated like that. :/ Everytime I read this story I am left feeling somewhat angsty and like I didn't do something, and that's the feeling I get because Tom never does anything BIG to tell Bill off or to make him understand he can't really go on treating everyone (especially him) like that.
