18 years ago, a kitten only a week old was abandoned on the streets, with not a name nor a mother. In fact, this kitten wasn't exactly a normal kitten.... But for now, all this week old stray needed was shelter.- so we know it’s really Bill but a very intriguing start!
I like how forlorn poor Bill is at this pet shop! Just pathetic!
Tom blinked, both him and Bill becoming more alert. Tom had noticed long ago that Bill responded to almost everything that was said around him, and Tom always got the impression that he could really understood what they said. He'd tried to coerce Bill into communication more than once, but Bill had always refused to respond. – a tickling of information not yet known.

However, something was missing. Tom always, always, always woke up to Bill curled up on his chest, purring lightly in his sleep. But his kitten was missing; how dare Bill wake up without him on his birthday? – yes how dare he!
But what he found was definitely not what he was expecting. – dun dun duuuunnnn!!!
I’m not laughing at any of it. Good alternate reality. Character development’s good, tone good, emotion good, motivation good. Now let’s keep it there!
