Oh, I love this. It seems so real, so in tune with actual emotions. And I love how you keep reiterating "we tried, it didn't work" over and over again, because it just makes it that much more realistic.

I think I read this when you first posted it... and it teared me up so bad I had to turn off my PC and read Tolkien till the pain was gone. Sorry for not leaving a review then. This is so... so realistic, and that's what makes me want to throw the fuck up when I read it. I can't help but hate Tom at the moment. God. This is so painful but I love it. Whenever I need to angst myself up, then this is the fic. XD Great work.

Really emotional and painful, the kind of story where you just want to reach inside and shake Tom up, knock some sense into him. Even though "real sense" is probably what he had knocked into him.. but it's sad none the less. Very good job!
