The message was just like a message to the website where he was posting the photos. You know how people write messages on their hands to prove it's them when they take pictures for websites? Something like that. Like "Hey (insert website name here)"

Hey there, /b/. Or it doesn't necessarily have to be /b/, but it's the first thing that came to mind.
Tom now had a second worry. He feared not only that his brother would never come back to him alive, but that he would come back to him emotionally broken and unable to recover.
Yeah... I've been wondering that too for a while now, if Bill will be able to recover from this and how hard it will be for him. Alongside the thoughts of 'What's happening to him?' are the thoughts of 'What's going to happen when he gets back??' :( But then, I don't know how far you intend to go with this.

I honestly don't know how far I want to continue the story. I don't know if I want to actually write chapters for all that or if I just want to write an epilogue that sort of gives the reader an idea of how his recovery went.

Okay. I'll admit it. This chapter actually made me break down in tears.
... Which only means that it is FANTASTIC.
My God, you do such a wonderful job making things seem so tense and twisted and hopeless and depressing even when nothing of the sort is happening in the chapter. I can't wait for the next update.
Are we going to find out what the 'message' was that was written with the date?

The message itself isn't particularly important. Nothing that is significant to them. Something along the lines of "Hey (website name here)" along with the date. The sort of thing you'd put on a picture if you were trying to prove it was really you.
