Since he died before anyone could get any answers, no one will ever really know.
There are clues though. Obviously it was sexual in nature. He probably obsessed over Bill and wanted to possess him sexually. Like most rapists, it was probably also an issue of power. Having control over someone who is as influential as Bill would be quite the rush for someone seeking power. The fact that he sent the video to Bill's e-mail where he thought Bill's loved ones would see it further proves his sadistic power-tripping tendencies. By making Bill's loved ones suffer he gained more power. Since he posted photos we know that part of it was an ego thing. He wanted attention and approval from the online community where he posted the photos. In the end, he was a pathetic, cowardly, weak, power-seeking pervert.
