This was an amazing story, and I use the word 'story' heavily. It was so full and detailed and sad and everything inbetween! The star-crossed paths of Bill and Bushido was written so beautiful and respectful. I actually shed a tear reading the last portion and I wasn't even overly emotional, it's like a tear just fell out of nowhere all of a sudden. What the hell did you do to me?!!! I wanted him with Tom and Bushido equally; I couldn't pick one over the other, which goes to show how well you portrayed the two as perfect companions for Bill. You really did your thing with this one. I really appreciated the maturity that this piece of work possessed. Beyond talented as usual.

...I'm not sure what I wished to happen. I simply loved Bushido in this story and...I don't know, maybe I did hope a little that he would have ended up with Bill and not Tom. Bill/Tom pairing is mostly my favourite but loosing Bushido hit me hard on this one.
Great chapter, and now I wish all the best to Bill and Tom! :)

Oh my god, I'm crying so much right now. I am happy that Bill went through with it and married Tom but I still am thinking that he never wanted Tom. I really was hoping that he would end up forgetting Bushido and then loving Tom. But on the other hand I thought it was beautiful the way Bu was with Bill and they were perfect together. *sniff, sniff* Oh my god, I can't beleive I'm crying so much. It takes a lot to make me cry. That was incredible. My heart hurt so much for Bushido but also for Tom. My OTP is Bill/Tom but I truly wanted Billshido to work out! Ugh. You wrote them so well together. I'll miss it.

I'm in constant awe with every new chapter that is updated. This is the most brilliant thing I have read in ages, better than any original fiction, novels, I do mean anything I've read. It's genius.
I was a huge fan of both pairings you had set up. The Bill/Bushido was the kind of star crossed lovers tragic love story I can sink my teeth into like candy. Your Bushido in this was perfect and charming and sad and to be honest I had a nice little cry after I read this chapter which doesn't happen often with fanfics for me. I just got very emotionally attched to him as a character.
I love the Tom/Bill too, I'm just blown away by all the interaction, characterization and back and forth emotion throughout this entire story. I'm completely hooked, it's the most unique plot and everything.
I'm kind of curious about something and I forgot to ask a few chapters back when it came up. With the concept of magic very prominent in this story and the subject of babies/concubines. Tom's father was sure that his unborn child was a boy, to replace Tom as he threatened. In this world, how does that work? Is there some magic involved that confirms that upon conception? What happens with female babies born? Are they all to be concubines and thus not really desired as children? Sorry for the question if it's a little bit of a nuisance. Anyways. Love this, love you guys, keep it up this is marvelous
Author's Response: The plot of THD doesn't allow us to explore its universe as in-depth as would be needed to explain everything, so we understand the question. Magic is very prevalent in this world; it could easily be used to know a child's gender. Girls are obviously far less desirable than boys, but not ALL are concubines, just most. Most will be sent off to train or will be trained by their mothers. There are brothels as well, though not commonly, and they are certainly unseemly. In Filogynia (but not in the Five Cities), women can work. And thank you, your review is quite the compliment!

I read the whole story in the night for the third time and the last chapter again in the morning. No... I am still thinking that Bu should not die. Now it seems to me like Bill is sacrificed... hope itīs not only the duty what he actually feels towards Tom. I am not sure if I want to Tom find out what was going about between Bill and Bu. I does not deserve such a cruel thing...

I knew before starting this chapter that something huge was going to happen, judging by its unusually large number of reviews compared to other chapters, and I assumed it would be Bushido's death. And yeah. Crying now. ;____;
I really hate to say this, but I'm failing to see why the gods brought Bill and Bushido together. Was it only so that Bushido would have the chance to feel love for a short period of time before his death? Or did the information from Bill's last vision (involving the traitorous Ira), indeed reach its intended destination through Jorg, providing Bushido with the reinforcements he otherwise would not have had? But even then, Bill did not even have that particular vision when with Bushido; he was with Tom. I don't get it. It appears to me that his visions didn't really change things overall... or did they? "All things are done for a reason," the gods say, but I'm not seeing it. :(
And now... Now that this has happened, I can't wait to read the next chapter. I imagine the news is going to be agonizing for Bill, and I can't wait to see it. Am I horrible or what? I also wonder if Bill's little affair with Bushido will ever be made known to Tom. Guess I'll just have to wait and see.
Great job, you two. This chapter was extremely sad, but the story isn't finished just yet (or perhaps it is and you two just haven't posted the final chapter(s) yet). I'm not going anywhere 'til it is.

I loved your Bushido, and Bill seemed so happy with him that I half rooted for them to end up together. But Tom was so in love with Bill, I hated the idea of Bill crushing him by going to Bushido. There was no possibility of happy ending for all three. That being realized, I believe Bill is where he should be. It broke my heart for Bushido to die, though. Thank you for another wonderful chapter.
