Well, Chobits is about a student, who finds a robot (that looks really much like a human) which has an error in its system. So, the robot doesn't know how to act like a normal human being, something all other robots DO know. Therefore, that student has to teach her EVERYTHING.
You should try to watch a few episodes, I'm sure you can find them on youtube. Oh, they're originally Japanese, but there are subtitled and dubbed versions.
