But these poor people where hunted down for a century and it is still an issue with the black market. So what about Tomi, he is Bills twin is he not. Though he does not share the same fetures. I have actually been recommended this story by at least four different people, but I was reluctant to read it because I was told that you weren't planning on finishing it, and I didn't want to read something that I had been told was awesome and amazing, only to fall in love with it and never get to read the ending. D:
I'm kind of shocked over the lack of reviews for this story, since not only is it written well in terms of language, but is also actually holds the attention lol. Not everyone achieves both, there are people who can string sentences together beautifully, but that doesn't make the content of their stories any more interesting, if they are already dull.
I love the whole universe you have created here, and I'm a big fan of alternative worlds, this story so reminds me of the first types of fanfic I ever read, back in the Roswell fandom many years ago lol, which were set in space or on different planets, something about it really appeals to me.
Bill's species is fascinating, and I love the way you reveal more about them as the story goes on, not overloading us with information right from the start, but giving us plenty to form the image of Bill that we need to help us understand him in this story, and to keep us intrigued, wanting to know more. The relationship between Bill and Tom is lovely and of course feeds my twincest hunger ;) I always appreciate any story that can get away with having the twins be together and it be ok, but you have left just enough of the taboo factor in there to make it believable, that they understand that even though the term incest has no meaning to them, it's still not really acceptable in human eyes.
The way that Bill's character is slowly presented to us is wonderful, how we get to see him through the doctor's eyes, experience his first impression when he meets Bill and how it affects him, and then later when Bill comes to him and turns him into an 'addict' hehe. Again it was perfectly paced, I mean in the beginning you just assume that all these people run around after Bill because he's famous, because they're paid to do it or because he's just that damn beautiful, but then you find out that there is much more to the story.
Moving onto Tom, lol I adore his slightly aggressive nature in this, and of course I always love it when Tom is possessive and protective of Bill. I laughed at his deadpan announcement to their parents about taking Bill's virginity, as if he was ready for a fight about it if necessary. His dream was described so well, it really gave a sense of what it would be like to be one of those poor prostitues with all those people pawing at you etc, and also to one of those people who just couldn't get enough. Tom's sadness for the one in his dream felt very genuine, it was kind of heartbreaking, and also that whole situation just has so much potential story-wise, I know this story is about Tom and Bill, but it would be amazing to read a story about the struggle of this race to break free from that sexual 'enslavement'.
I gather from from what I've read so far, the main plot of the story is the separation of the twins and the climax would be their reunion, which could either be dragged out over quite a few chapters, or resolved in the next one, but to be honest I'd love it if there was more than one chapter left for this story, because this tiny taste of this fabulous universe just isn't enough. Just like tasting Bill's saliva one time wouldn't be enough ;) Life would be imitating art if you didn't continue this, we would be no better off than a poor soul who was lucky enough to get a drop of Bill's addictive juices, only to not ever be given any more again. :P

It's fossilized itself there.You have made me so happy with this amazing review. Yesterday Nightingale and now you...I really don't know what to think anymore. I love recieving reviews as anyone else, but I treasure the ones I get for this fic the most. It's ironic, really, since I don't really understand where or how it came from. You nice people make it seem like it was something carefully constructed, but the exact opposite happened. It all sprang from my honest shock that a creature like Bill could exist. (I had just discovered TH) I looked at him, didn't understand what I saw and said: okay, he must be an alien. So I wrote him an alien.rnNow I feel so goddamn guilty, because people seem to want to read more of it and I can't promise anything. But one thing is sure. This fic is back on the agenda. Definitely. lol actually I don't visit this site as often as I used to, I was linked to your story by emseviltwin. I am reading your other stories on LJ though - the Scar Tissue, and I am still hoping you will continue the Leopard King (I think I have reviewed it on LJ a while ago).
And no, of course you are not ungrateful. I perfectly understand your position about receiving feedback and I _see_ the amount of work you have put into this universe and it's a pity receiving only a couple of reviews with "wow", "pls moar" phrases in them (of course it's also flatterin but not really the type of feedback to keep you smiling at least for a couple of minutes). The world you have formed is so full of details and these important things that I'm sure every reader has something they would like to mention in particular after reading it.
I think this story is your best actually, too. As I already mentioned, I'm reading your other stories and even though I love them too, this one feels huge and and perfectly worked out. The descriptions in this story are so deep and thoughtful - no doubt you have put a lot of work into it, into it's every chapter and paragraph.
I'm hoping you will continue this story, even if there might be only one chapter left, I'm looking forward to reading it someday :)

This story blows me away. Absolutely. I don't even know what to say. I'm just in complete awe and this blind worship mode because of the plot you managed to come up with - such an interesting and original plotline, storyline - characters and events, and even history as wel as traditions - very original, very different to everything I've read.
The way you described characters is mindblowing - Lucius first (lolol HP!), his kind of side POV, not a main one but still with his presence in the story we are introduced to Bill and all what's happening. I find it actually funny and ironic how you show this Lucius in this story - a decent, honest and trust-worthy man. Even the side characters like Lieberman and the Braque couple, they are priceless, especially the woman XD
And Bill and Tom - oh my, oh my! Bill, how beautifully you managed to describe his physical appearance, and how you entwined his looks with this special non-human possible race, species. How Bill got everything and Tom - nearly nothing but how special it feels. When Tom who possesses almost nothing from a Shiiraki but is special to Bill, the most special person in his whole life, and how Tom has this power over Bill - omg I just love that. I absolutely love when Tom and Bill are shown like that, and this case is simply outstanding. The insights into their 'childhood', how Tom claimed Bill and made him completely his, 'conquered' him - I loved this to pieces. And the mention of Bill's eye color change and everything else was so so precious and special. The bits of them in the 'airport' (shuttle-port?) together, sharing that special bubble of their complete immersion into it, into one another is described beautifully.
But what is most important and amazing about Bill and Tom - is how you managed to make their characters feel real and so alike to real Bill and Tom's characters. At least how I see them. I was just...reading this text, these bits about Bill and Tom's way in this AU universe and I totally could refer to the real twins, and this fact has me completely and absolutely mesmerized.
The actions in the latest chapter made me a little sad and it made me think that Tom's dream about Bill in a brothel was actually kind of right because Bill is selling himself in a kind of way. To protect them both but still, it pained me a little to know that Bill has those people around him just because they are addicted to him. Maybe not all of them are by his side because of his saliva, maybe some of them cherish his company and friendship but still. Ugh, a little stab. But nonetheless, I can see it happening - Bill sacrificing some of himself in order to be always happy and always with Tom. I'm guessing Tom doesn't know about that?

Honestly, I would gladly read this story chapter after chapter, and even though in the end of the latest chapter you mentioned that the next chapter might be the last one I am not saddened because this story is already so full of everything, so full of Bill and Tom and this amazing, curious world of the Shiiraki species. I wouldn't mind knowing more about all of it though, really. Oh and a pity that it's labeled as a PG-13 rating only, because unf, only the mentions of the sex were insanely hot, and of course they leave me curious about Tom and Bill's actual sex. I hope I don't sound too crude but you must know that you're seriously teasing lol.

Those who leave long reveiws tend to apoligoise for the lenght, but the thing is, there's no greater happiness for an author when a reader makes all that hard work worthwile. I don't want to sound ungrateful, because I treasure all my reviews, but sometimes reading a 'Great' or 'WOW' just makes me irritated. Your review was like a late Christman present and brightened my whole day. rnActually, more than that. I think this is a fabulous story. You've put so much detail into this new world in so few chapters that it's amazing to me. I do hope you find inspiration to finish the story, it would be a terrible shame to put this much imagination into something that doesn't get completed. So I will wait for your update as patiently as I can. Wonderful job!
