although I haven't read the intimate version, I think this one fits perfectly in the story! it makes sense for Bill to not immediately want everything at once, especially given his normal careful personality. & they are still super, super cute with each other.
so I hope for their sakes (& also mine!) that they're gonna be spending more time with each other, because I want that < 3

this chapter is so lovely -- the whole atmosphere, you've nailed it; the banter between the boys, the romantic moment in the tree (they're literally sitting in a tree kissing, you genius!) -- all of it. like, the kiss happens early in the story but it makes SENSE, it fits, like, I feel like even I might be convinced to go kissing Tom in that situation?
I also love that Tom asks permission first -- you don't see a lot of that in fic & some people feel like it ruins the moment (I've had that comment on a fic before), but I feel it's so lovely & it actually adds to the moment.

the exact moment I fell in love with this Tom
just--the mental image of Tom & his friends up high in their tree, watching Bill go in circles--it's hilarious & kind of asshole-ish but in a good way? god. I love it SO MUCH.
__ the sun filters through the leaves of those taller trees, bathing them in a dappled light that helps to distort time.__
& this description is just so beautiful & atmospheric, I had to point it out.
