Omg remember that time you told me Zane wasn't hiding anything!? Is that still true, did Sarah make all this stuff up? Or were her and Zane really together? Was she the crazy ex he was referring to? I realize that she's a little crazy so she could very well be telling Bill a bowl of batty lies lol but idk.
Anyways this was a great chapter, btw Zane didn't have to be such a jerk to Tom. Bill could've been a lot worse had Tom not found him, especially since he had a concussion... He should think about that before he goes off on him again...
Author's Response: I'm thinking Zane was a little bit on the liar-ish side, but also kind of sort of told the truth. Don't you just love the gray areas? But obviously, Zane is defensive as hell, especially with Tom, so it would seem he was hiding things. Hopefully all his issues won't stand in the way of finding Bill....

Romantic in me hopes that Bill and Tom are not long-lost twins. This would make their special connection less interesting. Romantic in me hopes that they are not related in any way, but have a connection because they are meant for each other.
Author's Response: I know, I'm not much of a twincester, either. It's good for some stories (ahem...Karmic Lessons...cough cough) but mostly seems unrealistic. I do know there's something called genetic attraction, and I played with that idea for this story, but maybe I'll save it for the future...

I keep thinking about the psychic connection between Bill and Tom. It has to be psychic. They feel each other and are attuned to each at some deeper level. If Bill were not so focused on Zane, he would notice it. And I think now that Tom got so quickly taken with Bill, because Tom felt this connection right away. I wonder if Tom will ever tell Bill how his falling for Bill actually happen. I am very curious.
I also think that Bill only thinks that he is in love with Zane. Zane is handsome of course and nice and so caring if to compare him to Anis. After "the relationships" with Anis of course Bill will think that Zane is it. But I think Bill was just settling and I think Bill starts feeling this way too.
I really hope that it will be Tom who will save Bill and Bill will reconsider the place of Tom in his life.

Author's Response: When I was first thinking up this story, I thought about making Tom and Bill twins who'd been separated at birth and never knew they were twins. I guess some of that "twin connection" is making it into this version. Or maybe it's that old New Orleans magic... Bill's a tarot card reader, so he's learned to build up his intuition. Tom's in love, so maybe he's just more in tune with Bill. Or maybe they're really...twins!! O_o Or maybe not... I'm thinking that with all this bad, stressful stuff happening to Bill, he's going to start seeing everything in a not-so-shiny light, including Zane. That halo effect of a handsome face and dimpled smile might just start to fade under all the crap he's going through now. But then again, maybe Zane will save the day, and Bill will fall in love all over again.... Or will it be Tom...? I don't know, I haven't even started the next chapter, darn my busy life! See you in chapter 11 as soon as possible!

OMG THAT WAS INTENSE!
First off, Zane is a bit too intense. Why couldn't he just be happy that Bill was okay and that someone was there to help him when he was hurt, instead of being all up on Tom and upset. Geeze, Zane, get a grip, dude.

I knew there was no "Aunt Sarah". But shit, shit got crazy! I kept saying "DON'T OPEN THE DOOR!" I had a feeling the girl was not some random girl who just hit him on accident. If he was in his right mind, I'm sure Bill would have known that too.
I honestly was expecting this Sarah to be a wife or girlfriend but not a crazy cousin who is obsessed with him. Definitely didn't see that coming. Either way, it would have been good of Zane to be honest with Bill. Especially if he cared about him like he truly said. Would have made me not think he was so shady either, because it sounds like Sarah may have taken advantage of him when he was young. :/
Please tell me Tom is going to save the day?! He had a dream about Bill in the Bayou so he's going to save the day, going to somehow know that Bill is there, right? He's going to be scouting in his helicopter and see him tied to the tree??? I hope he is found or Sarah keeps her word (I won't hold my breath on Sarah keeping her word, though lol)

Author's Response: Bonjour, TCG! I totally agree with you that Zane needs to back the eff up when it comes to Tom. However, I'm pretty sure he can smell serious competition, even if Bill hasn't noticed it (yet). For all intents and purposes, Sarah is "Aunt" Sarah, having been raised to believe that's what she was. You were right about her, though! Getting as psychic as Bill, huh? And I think it's understandable that Zane wanted to keep that whole "crazy Aunt Sarah and the relationship we had" thing under wraps. I certainly wouldn't want anyone to know - everyone's entitled to family secrets! Right? cough cough..... Yes, she probably took advantage of Zane, but it seems to me Zane hasn't been quite able or willing to get rid of her completely, and by now, that's his own damned fault. Tom saving the day? Wellllll....we'll have to see about that...the bayou's a big place, you know.... and only crazy Aunt Sarah knows where Bill is. I'm so glad you're enjoying this, and thanks for the great review!!

Are you KIDDING ME right now OH MY GOD. GET BACK HERE and pull me up off this CLIFF you've left us hanging on. I feel bad for Zane, "for true," his life seems to have been pretty fucked up and his cousin basically raped and abused him if what she said happened happened, but this is too much and maybe it's the emotional damage and fear, but he hasn't seemed that invested. Bill's statement sounded true to me also, and bill has been pretty much playing house with his pretty boyfriend, but I don't believe him either. His concussed Tom obsession seemed much more genuine. And Tom Is just a way more invested and involved kind of guy, and he really pays attention and is learning Bill.
Author's Response: I'm totally sorry, K. Really. I didn't mean to leave everyone with that last, sad image of Bill, vomiting, injured, scared, alone, and tied up to a tree in the bayou.... Poor Bill... I know you will save him, but I cannot stop worrying about what he will have to face next.
It seems that Bill and Tom have some sort of psychic connection. Both saw a prophetic dream about Bill lost in a bayou.
It also seems that when Bill was the least on his guard because of his concussion, he felt most drawn to, most comfortable and safest with Tom, not Zane. Tom and Bill are connected in more than one way.
I feel sorry for Zane as well. He seems like a good man twisted by circumstances he has no control over. Aunt Sarah turned out to be his aunt indeed, at least in a way. A total nutcase that has been ruining Zane's life since he was 14, and probably even before. What Zane did wrong is not telling Bill the full truth about her, and as a result, mortally endangering Bill.
I hope Bill will not come back to Zane after that. Zane is not ready for any kind of relationships yet.
Cannot wait for the next chapter! I want Bill to be ok do desperately. I hope Tom will save him.
Author's Response: I don't know if I CAN save him...sometimes these things just write themselves, you know? And out there in the bayou, there are all kinds of bogey monsters - gators, snakes, deadly spiders, scary ghosts, swamp mosquitoes carrying icky viruses.... just YUCK. So we'll have to see what happens, but I'll do my best! I'm wondering where this psychic connection is coming from too. Bill seems good at ignoring what's right in front of him though, so he might not even notice that he and Tom have had some kind of connection from the start. I'm glad to hear you feel bad for Zane - I kind of do, too. Having to hide that weird relationship with his aunt, probably still caring about her but being afraid of her at the same time, wanting to start a new relationship while fighting off his old one. The cards have been stacked against him from the start, huh? I'll see you in the next chapter! :)

So sorry for not reviewing. We're finally moving Friday unless our arse of a buyer pulls another trick. Trying to sort out 17 years of junk to downsize from a large 4 bed to a small 2 bed is crazy. Anyway, this will be short and not so sweet because I will never forgive you...you killed the cat! How could you? I had to give both of my kitties big hugs after reading that. So...you are definitely in my bad books! I suppose I ought to comment on the rest of the chapter too...LOL! I'm wondering why Tom wasn't happy to see Bill on the set? Because it was Zane who brought him there or another reason? I still can't trust Zane and I'm sorry but I'm not buying his crazy aunt story. I'm just really suspicious of him. But then I'm finding Tom's behaviour strange too. He was really sweet when Bill was upset, after having given him the cold shoulder all day, but then it's odd that he arranges to meet Bill out front and then isn't there...and that's when Bill happens to get mown down by a car. Probably reading too much into it, but I have a cynical, suspicious old mind. So, that's my extremely quick take on the main events (only one main event really...poor kitty). I've missed you...life's been hectic and busy and I haven't had much time to myself for months and months, so I haven't had the luxury to sit and write you a nice long email. I'm so happy to hear you got a new place and should be practically all moved in by now! I just did it a year ago, but luckily didn't have to get rid of too much stuff. I can't imagine having to go through a lifetime's worth of things in a hundred year old home, and not just your things and D's things, but a large family's collections over decades. Your hair must have been standing on-end for weeks! But hopefully it's all done, it went smoothly, and you're in a cute little uncluttered flat with modern wiring! lol..... I'm sorry I killed off the cat! But you know that when there's a psychotic stalker in any story where the stalkee has a pet, the pet dies. It's just the way it goes. Why Tom was being a jerk? After the previous chapter, he'd just walked away from Bill, not wanting to keep putting all that effort into something that wasn't going to happen. He wasn't so much pissed off as just keeping his distance. But when he saw that B was upset? Yeah, he's going to stop avoiding him. He was just trying to help Bill out! Honest! Killing a cat, that's one thing...making Tom the psycho stalker? Hmmm....now that I think of it, that's not a bad plot.... Anyway, good luck with unpacking! Love you!

OMG there is just so much going on that is leaving me with so many questions. Andy is right not to trust Zane! My trust levels keep going down and down for him lol Poor Bill :( I can see how he would want to trust him and believe in him but I don't know anymore; this is just way too sketchy. I do not think the person that is stalking and harassing Zane is an Aunt Sara. I don't know what to think, though. Just sketchy as all hell, though.

Author's Response: I feel so bad for Zane - no one likes him, no one trusts him....Maybe Bill sees something that no one else does? Maybe he's just overworked and overstressed?
