I don't really like Bill's mother, okay, I do understand that she wants some alone time with her son after all this time, but the way she's handling it just isn't right. And Tom, Bill didn't leave you, it's sad that Tom thinks so :( Great chapter :)

You're killing me with this one. Poor Tom, and the cops didn't think to tell his mother where he'd been or what had happened to him? I was kind of hoping that she'd recognise Bill or... something. It's gotta come out soon that he's been traumatised or she's going to love him to death.

Such a sad chapter. I don't like Tom's mother at all, for some reason I don't trust her. And it's heartbreaking that Tom thinks Bill left of his own accord, and Bill thinks Tom didn't want him there. I have a really bad feeling that Tom's in danger again. Can't wait for the next update, love Helen xx

Well that was a good chapter! The thing is that Tom is legally an adult ( and he was when he turned 18). The cop can't take him anywhere. He can only notify his mother that he had been found/sighted. Bill could give him his phone number so his mother can make contact...UNLESS... She was abusive and Tom had left bc of that reason, and then he got kidnapped. If that was the case, that makes sense why he didn't call her when he was rescued. But in any case, they can't make him go anywhere he doesn't want to.
Author's Response: Nah, they aren't going to drag him out of the car and throw him kicking and screaming into the back of a police cruiser, but the boys are going to go along to find out just what the heck is going on. (and, happily, Tom's mom wasn't abusive)

I love that Bill was such a big dummy that he didn't even think someone might be looking for Tom. Also, he was in that place for three years? No wonder he's so broken.
Author's Response: Well, he was there for a bit over 2 years, and then with Bill for a couple months, so, overall, he's been gone for 3 years. So, it's...slightly less bad? But, yeah, the whole idea never even crossed Bill's mind. He was too focused on making sure Tom was okay to think about the fact that maybe someone else wanted him back, too.

Oh my gods how had I forgotten about this one?! It's so sweet and fluffy and romantic and a million miles away from the hell they were having to go through that it just gives me a little touch of hope that one day there might be some normal life out there for them.

Forgetting after that long isn't that out of the realm of likelihood.rnrnHonestly, the biggest hurdle between these two and normalcy is Tom. Not because he's all nervous and twitchy, but because he wants normal to be how everything was BEFORE. And things ain't gonna be like that again. He needs to accept that his new 'normal' isn't what it was three years ago. Things, and he, have changed a lot.
