I'm here! I'm slow as hell but now I'm here! And I'm gonna tell you right now that I can be the slowest reader on earth, so if I stop reviewing it doesn't mean I haven't stopped reading, I just might not be back in a month or two. Unless I find a reason to not like the story, of course, I'm very picky and often I never finish stories at all, but this is written by you so I doubt it'll be anything but amazing. (I also review from my phone most of the time so if there are weird random words or typos we blame the phone, okay?)
So. First chapter. Wow. I'm not even sure what to say about it. Not that I didn't like it, hell I loved it, but there's not much to say yet, I think. That circus is clearly not a place you want to be (duh) and I feel so sorry for Bill who's so stubborn and will get hurt for it. And Tom... awe, Tom. He's just... I don't even know how to word it. Poor baby.
Okay so I'm definitely intrigued and I'll come back for next chapter for sure! But I'm not sure when. It can be in five minutes and it can be in a month, that's the kind of reader I am. Sometimes I finish a story in one sitting and sometimes I read a chapter every other month, it depends on my mood. But yes. I'll be back! And you'll get to read more of my useless rambling.

Author's Response: There was actually meant to be more to this, eventually, with the whole big trial and resolution of everything and some time in Bill's apartment and such, but it kinda got put on permanent hiatus when I stopped wanting to write. I think it got to like 16 pages or something before that. It probably would have been ridiculously long and less interesting than I though it was going to be.

Oh Emily. She must have really loved him. She certainly sounds like a keeper, especially the way she held on for so long and waited for him. Not gonna lie, I'm hoping someone has told her that Tom is still alive. She deserves to know that, poor girl. And Bill... oh Bill. I can see how much he's having to restrain himself from making the place explode into glitter and tree decorations and all the rest and it kind of makes me giggle. Holiday season with Bill around must have been awesome, once.
Author's Response: They weren't together long, but they got along really well. And they were young, so every relationship is the BIGGEST DEAL EVER. Maybe we can assume that Lillian told her that Tom was back?rnrnAnd, man, when has Bill ever restrained himself from making a place look like a glitter bomb went off? Tinsel EVERYWHERE. Go to shower and there's tinsel in your hair. Six months later you're still finding tinsel under the couch. TINSEL ON EVERYTHING.

i'm sensing more emily in the future. not a reunion, but i can see tom wanting her to know that he hadn't abandoned her. and i can see bill being jealous and nervous and maybe a little scared about tom seeing his old girlfriend. and omg, what is tom getting bill for christmas??? it'll probably make me cry. you seem to be good at that. ;)
Author's Response: If I had continued the story past this, there would have been more Emily, but Bill really wasn't OVERLY concerned about it. He's more concerned about people touching Tom and freaking him out than Tom ditching him for an old love. THAT will get his claws out faster than anything. Don't trigger his Tom!rnrnThough that could have been another fun wave of angst. Emily shows up and maybe Tom isn't AS freaked out by her giving him hugs as he would have been a year ago, and Bill isn't sure if he should be patting himself on the back because he's helped Tom get so much better, or be freaking out that Tom's going to realize that he feels safer with women and is going to dump him for a lady.

HE CAME BACK. This Bill is a superhero. No tights or cape needed... though he'd probably wear them if Tom asked him to. I'm so glad they smoothed things over with Tom's mother too. A much better resolution to that puzzle than I'd have been able to work out.
I get the feeling this is where it ended last time, but I want MORE. Please.

Lovely chapter. Tom's surprise and relief that Bill returned for him was so bittersweet. It's clear how much they care for each other, and I am so pleased Lillian understood. I wasn't sure about her in the last chapter but felt sorry for her in this one. Bill and Tom need each other and now they're back together, but I think maybe Tom might be ready to meet Bill's parents now, gradually letting a little of the outside world back into his life. Love this story, Helen xx
Author's Response: Lillian just wanted her baby back, but, sometimes you need to let go and give them their freedom, especially when you can't really deal with what's going on.

These little snippets of Tom's life before he got snatched - Emily, his roomate, all the rest, just make his captivity all the more heartbreaking in retrospect. It's easy not to think about Tom having had a life and dreams and ambitions and everything else when you see him broken in a room, but now it's all coming right to the surface.
Fantastic work. Even if I do want Bill to come charging to the rescue.
Author's Response: Just think, once upon a time Tom was a wee tiny thing with giant brown eyes, sitting at the kitchen table for breakfast and swinging legs that didn't reach the floor yet. Tiny, happy baby.
