Bill is more and more self-confident and he's liking himself, even though he has wings but he still has to learn to fly by himself. His life and thoughts are still focused on Tom only.
And dreams too. “Maybe he had that sort of effect on humans all the time and was used to it.” Haha, this is wonderful!

Absolutely brilliant! I LOVE how Tom reveals his true nature to Bill! They both harbored a longing for each other, for different reasons. Tom is wiser so he did all he could to restrain himself but, being a kid, Bill has less self-control and pushes him over the edge. Besides, he's sure Tom is his guardian angel so he can't possibly read correctly the deep stares he gets from the older man. He thinks it's lust, but there's no way he could imagine it's lust for blood.

It's interesting how he still trusts Tom, even once he realizes he's not an angel at all. Bill could be scared as hell, angry at the umpteenth grown-up who betrayed him, yet he isn't. And I don't think his judgment is clouded by a promise of sex or the fact Tom is the guy who allows him to lead a luxurious life.
Tom has always been good to him, he saved his life and treated him like the most precious creature on earth, so there's not one single reason he could turn into a monster and hurt or kill him.
No matter his nature, he's still his trustworthy Tom, and I bet Bill won't be disappointed :)

Now, please accept my apologies, hun. I truly meant to read this beautiful chapter earlier and properly review it. I needed time do to so and... as I wrote you, I suck when it comes to organizing my time :/ Do trust me when I say I LOVE this fic a lot! You're doing an amazing job!

Author's Response: Yay, I'm happy you liked how Tom revealed himself to Bill! Now Bill will understand much more about his guardian and why Tom acts the way he does. And you are correct - Bill still trusts him. He is very focused on Tom at all times, which is understandable, but sooner or later Bill will have to focus more on himself. No need to apologise! I'm moved nearly to tears by what Tom tells Bill, since the moment he explains he's sort of adopting him.
By the passionate way he speaks, I can SEE his deep eyes staring into Bill's, the way he probably leans over to reassure the boy, as any truly selfless, caring dad would do.

When he strongly asserts that Bill is a victim and nothing else, I believe Bill realizes it in full because it's Tom who's telling him so. I mean, any therapist or wise adult could say the same, but Tom has something more, a power that creates a deep connection with the boy and makes him interiorize the concept, not simply understand it at a rational level.

Some other things Bill deeply understands. One for all is the hint given not to rush things, meaning the boy is not to become an immortal being, yet. It's a step to be taken in full consciousness, not out of fascination for such a loving creature.

The consequence of Tom's behavior and words is that Bill is not disappointed by him being a father figure instead of a lover. He feels safe, precious and it's all that matters :)

Author's Response: Oh, Tom's eyes are very intense in real life so it's easy to imagine him looking at Bill that way. *sighs* Then again, Bill's eyes are every bit as intense too! A certain eye-rape picture comes to mind LOL Yes, Bill can believe things that Tom says, even if he believes nobody else. Vampires are pretty persuasive creatures. But even though they will not be rushing things, Bill still can't help being attracted to Tom for what he is. Enjoy the new chapter and thank you for your comments!

Oh my, not bad for a first date lol I giggled through all the chapter. Bill is such a sweet goof... and I can't imagine how horrified he would be the next morning, if he remembers what he did.
All in all, Bill acts as any teenager would, driven by his emotions more than by his common sense, except he shifts from reality to wonderland and back. This I love to no end!
All his doubts about rich angels who probably don't need to eat and can't make their boss angry are truly super and funny and, in a way, they fit the idea I have of this situation, as I wrote you.
On the other hand, though, it would make sense if a boy who has endured the worst this world can offer and has nothing to lose, embraces the idea of living an odd, yet fascinating, experience. Why not?

I noticed a sad detail. He thinks he shouldn't pay attention to other people's opinion not because it's normal for two guys to date, but because “nobody knows what he's done in the past.” It says he never felt like the victims of weirdos he was, but like a dirty and wrong boy :(

Tom's character is fabulous. Gorgeous and mysterious; sweet but also stern in his resolutions; affluent and powerful without a trace of snobbery. Only.. guardian angels should know better than letting a boy drink a whole bottle of champagne XD

I love it that things are not rushed. Honestly, I would have been disappointed if Tom gave in to Bill's suggestion and had sex with him.

I'm so glad you enjoyed this chapter and all Bill's goofiness :) Yeah, the story is very much like a rags-to-riches type fairytale and was one of the reasons why I wasn't sure if you'd like it so I'm really happy that you do :) Thanks for your note about Bill not accepting that he was a victim. Of course, you are right that he blamed himself and I had to address that in the new chapter I've put up. I'm also thrilled that you love Vampire Tom! I love writing him too - it's such a change from how I've written Tom in the past :) Oh no, there's not gonna be any sex any time soon, especially not between Tom and Bill. I'm really into this. A deep, dark side of myself has recently been nostalgic for vampire stories (including Twilight, sue me) and this is really a fun read so far. Awful what has happened to Bill, though, and this last scene was soooo second-hand embarrassing. Poor Bill.
