When I first read one of your other stories I was so new to this website I didn’t even know how to check people’s profiles to see their other work! I’m so glad I went back to see if you had written other stories!! I’m such a sucker for vampire fics and this has been one of my favorites so far! There was so many different emotions I felt throughout this story. When Tommi betrayed Bill I actually felt my heart sink in my chest while reading. There was a few things that made me giggle to while reading like the names you came up with for Tommis band, ‘Don’t leap’ ‘shout it outloud’. It’s also funny to imagine young dreaded Tom singing while playing guitar since he rarely sang back then and even now. The end was so fulfilling and it made me almost cry tears of joy with Bill when they reunited. I know you don’t write for this fandom anymore since you have kids and your own busy life going on, but if you ever decide to write something again I will be there to read! For now I will check your page for more stories :D I wish you the best and hope you are living a fruitful life!

I love when people notice the little details I put into a story so thanks for mentioning that :) Yes, I have 2 young kids who are also autistic which means I am kept very busy but perhaps one day when they are older I will be able to write again. I've mentioned this on other reviews: I came into the TH / THF fandom in Jan’22. The vast majority of fics I've read are quite old and I'm sure the authors have moved on (and probably wont even see new reviews), BUT I figure why not leave one anyway… I enjoyed this fic and wanted to say thank you for writing and sharing it! I really felt for Bill and all he was put through - which was A LOT. Vampire Tom was SO frustrating LOL, I am so glad that Bill eventually got through Tom's thick ass head lol.

I love how Bill treats Tom LOL He's talking to him as he would to an ordinary ass who let him down.
… and now I'm realizing I didn't guess the reason of Tom's leaving, after all. He's suggesting he could have staid, so the fact that Bill could live his life and understand himself seems just coincidental; not what Tom intended in the first place.
Oh my, I'm so engrossed in the story that I thought Bill might be Tom's child, but he would be 200! lol
Wow, it's so beautiful and sad. Tom's sorrow is similar to death coming when a wish is still to be fulfilled. I've read a beautiful poem by a great Italian writer about that, and it has fascinated me a lot. The whole story of Tom's life is wonderful. It covers all the changes and sorrows a person can go through, until they reach wisdom and the peace of mind.
Tom visiting his elderly son is sweet and heartbreaking (the curse of being immortal, I'd say). Also Tate's condition fits in the story but... please, tell me you've done it on purpose, just to bring out my idiotic side LOL LOL
Author's Response: Tom shouldn't be treated any differently just because he's a vampire, at least by Bill, who has every right to speak to him that way. Tom totally deserved what Bill says to him, although his reasons for what he did become more clear as you read on. Oh, no way would I make Bill into Tom's child, or even grandchild. The horror! Twincest I have no issue with (clearly, lol) but dad-cest or grandpa-cest...ew, nope... That poem sounds intriguing and like it would relate nicely to Tom's tragic tale. I expected Bill not to want Tom anymore, and his love fade away at the sight of... well, a corpse. Instead, as I've noticed before, Bill has grown so accustomed to the vampire world that he sees beyond the appearance. I bet I would be really desperate at Tom's grumpiness.
Another thing I like about vampires is their love for beautiful things. Wealth can buy a lot, but surely not good taste. And I'm talking about vampires as if they were my neighbors..... In that case, I'd love to be their cleaning lady, dog sitter or whatever, just to fill my eyes with their beauty lol. As you've witnessed, I'm not exactly surrounded by beauty, here where I live haha
Naveen, you're wrong on this one: Bill doesn't look that good with a nose ring -_- Only Bronson does! XD XD
Author's Response: No, of course Tom's dead-looking body wouldn't make Bill's love for him disappear! True love can accept anything - weight gain, weight loss, ageing, disabilities, disfigurements and stinky corpse-like states LOL Everything about Tom and why he's grumpy will be explained in the next chapter. Oh yes, it sure would be lovely to work for a vampire, but I bet you'd be cleaning up a lot of blood and bodies XD Bronson is the coolest! I want him as my friend. I'm glad Bill doesn't plunge into depression or something, but he's willing to put his new freedom at good use. (Yes, 21 is the perfect age lol).
Runar's tenderness is so sweet, as it's most unexpected. I want a supernatural, gorgeous creature to hold my hand when I'm sad and lonely! Please, remember to send me one for my birthday haha Runar is kind at heart, and I like how he pretends he's not.
A 13-hour flight, sleeping curled up on a recliner... at this point, I must ask you if you went around the plane, looking for a sleeping pod hidden somewhere LOL I know you did!
One thing I love about vampires – any kind of vampires, including my beloved green-eyed one – is that they are beautiful, alluring and threatening at the same time. It goes without saying that if a vampire ever showed at my door, he would be the exception and look like Nosferatu T_T
Wow! This twist is so brilliant! I didn't expect what was inside of the coffin at all. Will Bill's love for Tom be stronger than this sight?

I was wondering what made Tommi change his mind on Bill to the point of not standing him anymore. At first, I thought it was fame and the subsequent constant attention from fans (like a kid let loose in a candy store), but heck, I should have known the exact reason! I even commented that all the crap Bill made up would eventually backfire on him. And I did notice that he mentioned Tom's name in the worst possible moment! I hope I'm not starting to suffer from memory loss or something.... eek, that'd be awful! Bwhahahahahaha
However, Bill is blaming himself too much, as Tommi is the true asshole here. Like it happens in real life, he hasn't even bothered to tell Bill what was bugging him to the point he couldn't love him anymore. He should have shown at least some decency, if only for the financial help and support Bill gave him. I'm wondering how long Tommi would have gone on with this charade, if he hadn't walked on Bill and Georg.....
No, I can't understand Jin's logic either. There must be something behind what he did, like Tom's telling him to do so. It would be odd for a professional like Jin to mess up so badly, and especially to think everything is ok because he's not a fan girl.... I'm so curious!
Author's Response: Yes, you were right! (and no, you don't have memory loss yet LOL) A relationship cannot survive such a web of lies as Bill was telling. And Tommi definitely had spun his own web with Jin. However, I had some people tell me that Bill was the bastard in this situation so...I dunno. Let's just say that everyone's been an asshole and it covers them all. And I don't really have an explanation for Jin's behaviour, except that perhaps he began to sleep with Tommi in some misguided attempt to 'free' Bill from him, but over time Jin developed feelings for the boy and that's why he hid their affair for so long. Perhaps he was trying to protect Tommi from the wrath of Runar. Perhaps Jin was ashamed of his unprofessional conduct. Or maybe Tommi DID tell him to keep quiet. Who knows? The guy is a bit mysterious and twisted, like someone else we once knew... ;) Thank you for reading!

It's interesting how differently Bill relates to Tom and Tommi. I'm realizing it just now, when his “love” for Tommi is dying. I put “love” in quotes, because all that Bill seems to care and miss about his relationship with Tommi is sex. Apart from some questions by the musician, they have never spent quality time talking, strolling around, visiting places. Either it was venues because of Tommi's work, or bed. And even now, what Bill complains about the most is the lack of physical display of affection. So far (I'm quite at the beginning of the chapter), the game Bill played in Gustav's van seems what started to widen the gap between the two boys. I think such games, even when not extremely kinky, require a great deal of closeness in the couple in order not to backfire on you....
Thinking about the relationship Bill had with Tom instead, it's true that at a certain point Bill lusted after him, but there was more, much more to it!
I don't know if you shaped things this way on purpose, or if they just went like this “by themselves”, as it often happens in stories by wonderful writers.
A blow up sheep? I don't know what it is for, but considering the other presents Andreas got for his birthday, sounds quite creepy LMAO
Oh my, a huge mess is on its way. The question is who will suffer the most...

The easiest explanation Bill could give about his dad is that the man pays him handsomely not to have an embarrassing, “different” kid around. But this would have been out of character. In fact, since the beginning of the story, Bill has never been able to make up reasonable explanations for the odd situations surrounding him. And now he even believes it would be cool to make Tom meet a centuries-old vampire. I'm just imagining Tommi's face if that happened lol
All in all, he's still a human kid who has to make difficult decisions on his own.
“A large garage for his growing collection of motorcycles”... I'd call it wishful thinking, like my never-to-exist craft room haha
Oh, the sad episode of the torn hair, which in reality happened to Bill! Crazy fans. Like: I love him so much that I inflict pain upon him -_-
While the game Bill's playing looks so much like asserting the fact that Tommi is his, him mentioning Tom, just in the very moment he should have been focused on his boyfriend only, makes me wonder again why, in the first place, Bill loves Tommi so much....

I was wondering why Runar and Bill hadn't heard both sides of the story first, and then I understood. And... if only there were guardian vampires to help us deal with those who want to fuck with us! A mind-reading bodyguard is the best anybody could wish for lol
When I heard about the crap that really happened to the twins (basically what Jenna does in this chapter, apart from the gun) I was scared. I wouldn't have been surprised if some psycho tried something more than breaking into their house and steal something.
I notice that Bill starts to think more like a vampire than a human boy. In the past,he wouldn't have enjoyed a night with his boyfriend after witnessing a murder.
I love all the twists of this story!

I'm back, and finally I realized why I haven't caught up with the chapters until now (I will tell you). Now I'm able to enjoy this awesome fic again :)))
The relationship between Bill and Tommi couldn't be better. Tommi's feeling are sincere; he loves Bill for who he is, not just for his looks, nor for his money. But I understand how tough it is to keep a huge secret in a relationship based on mutual trust. And yes, Bill has entangled himself in a web of lies, starting from his family's story, so how could he spill even part of the truth now?

I giggled at Runar who'd rather listen to grass growing, and at Bill's NOT wearing animal prints... if only! LOL
