Great chapter :) Bill's family really is very strict when it comes to their beliefs. Bill is already 26, he should be able to make his own decissions, but maybe this is just how it works in that family. And I loved the ending how Bill thought of Tom :)
Author's Response: Yeah, they're old-fashioned and expect Bill to be too. He agrees on some things, but refuses to not have his own opinions and stuff :) Still, respecting parents is important.

Hello, I am not sure how much you want to reveal just yet, but I am kind of curious about your views since I am wondering whether I should get invested in this or not. I am not Catholic, but I am Christian, and while there are differences...it's basically the same? I have no issue with you writing whatever you like, I am just wondering do you feel...more respectful or more resentful towards the religion so I can guage how this might go. Obviously if this is a "rescued from religion" story, it may not be for me. I hope you understand. I'm mostly just curious :)
Author's Response: Respectful, definitely. While I am an atheist myself, I respect all religions and I think they're wonderful. This isn't going to be a "rescued from religion" story, but more like a story about finding your own ways to believe and breaking the rules a little :) I totally understand if this is not what you feel like reading, but to answer your question, I'm very respectful towards all religions. :)

rocky road brownie!!! oh my god, I love that *drools* my favorite haha! I like how they're getting to know each other, and also how Bill wanted to be a nurse but had to be a priest because of his parents? Too bad. I mean the image of Bill being a priest is VERY sexy, don't get me wrong, but him as a NURSE! even sexier :3 or maybe they're both as sexy? I cannot decide. Anywayyyy
I like that even though Bill believe he is a lot more open minded and not THAT strict and judgmental as "the rest" (his parents and such) and I love that he befriends Tom and likes to be around him and omg who am I kidding I love that they're getting to know each other, it's so cute, and it could be fun to see how that's going to go since you know, Bill's a priest and tom doesn't believe and their view on homosexuality and so on :P
Love how Tom knows that Bill might be out of his reach, because of the priest thing but wants to be his friend nonetheless. I mean yes we know he wants to do him but he's not being creepy about it, he's sweet and you know, wants them to be friends too! i love that

I KNOW! I was literally eating while writing the draft, okay. No regrets. Nurse!Bill needs to happen in some fic, dammit, I'll write it myself if I have to. What a baby.
I love writing about their disagreements, I have to admit :D They'll discuss homosexuality at some point too! That'll be so much fun, can't wait to get there. And I mean, I think everyone knows where this will be going anyway, Bill has to be at a least teeny tiny bit more open-minded than his family ;)
I'm glad you like him! He's just a sweet guy who happens to think the town priest is cute (all of us probably agree) and wants to know Bill, so why be a creep and push him away? He jokes to Georg about boning Bill but for real he's just a teddy bear.

Like this story and interested to see where it goes. But a few things....you do know Catholic priests cannot get married and have kids? (unless he's divorced and kids are from a previous marriage before he entered the priesthood). In that logic Bill can be a priest but he can't have a married father that is a priest too. Any other religions/Christians allow their reverends to be married and have kids, but not Catholics.
Author's Response: I am aware! It's called double standards :D He's expecting everyone else to act perfect but breaks rules himself :P This is, after all, fiction! I am so excited to see where this is going. Loved this chapter and their interaction. Love how Bill is kind and explained his faith and wasn't all "the bible says so, therefore it's true!" and well.. Aaah I'm so happy to hear that!! As I've already mentioned I've been an atheist all my life but I think religions are super cool. I don't want to make Bill a stereotypical believer written by an atheist (= only explains everything by saying "the Bible says so!!1" and has no opinions of his own). I actually know a couple priests just like I'm writing him and they're sooo cool! :3
