It's not too bad, a lot of kings spend less than 20 years on the throne, just trying to picture the size of the gallery. (King dies, brother becomes king, brother dies, etc). Oh gosh, ones all over the UK - Windsor and Hampton Court and Edinburgh and Stirling and Caernarfon and Beaumaris and Alnwick to name the majority :)

Georg and Johanna, hope they get along better than she and Tom did. Having just visited a number of castles and palaces, this is feeling much more colorful to me :). Oh, I was wondering about the portrait gallery, though. 100 years, not 500 or anything? Did they move the rest of the kings somewhere else? How many were in the last 100 years? :)
Author's Response: yeah, didn't think that through, did i? considering a king could be king for 50 years or more, 100 years worth of kings probably wouldn't require an entire gallery. maybe i'll go back and change that. and which castles did you visit?
