I really liked the way you built that Tom was a psychopath, it was something the reader could guess even before Bills class but I think it was a nice way of showing.
I just have one thought that pops up whenever I read the scenes at the university. It is supposed to be a university but the people there behave like high school teenagers with the whispering and the bad mouthing. Thank God university irl isnt like that (or at least here it isnt).
