Hey, been enjoying the story so far! (Feels almost sadistic to say that considering the storyline) Don't worry about the whole "innaccuracy" thing about Tom telling Georg about being gay because of the era it was set in. I mean, aside from the fact that we're now in 2014 and our own society is so different now than it was 70 years ago that it's hard for us to write from an outdated p.o.v, more importantly it's YOUR story and what you wrote just has to work for the storyline. Don't be afraid to tweak things even if they're not historically accurate. People are always gonna try and point things out and tell you that you're wrong, but all it takes is a little disclaimer and then they're all quiet. :) Good luck with the rest of it, interested to see what's gonna happen and how (not if, because i know that he will) succeed in saving Bill. :) Taschatokio.

I don't mind that it's a bit unrealistic, it's not so much that it's annoying and it's fiction, after all :) I'm curious what will happen next!

Hey there^^
I'm really happy about you continuing the story!
A little hint though...gay people were even under the Jewish rank in Germany at that time. They were treated even worse than them, what's really not imaginable at all.
Georg behaved as Tom being gay wouldn't be so bad, but a word to a wrong officer and he would end up dead or merely both of them, since Georg knew.
As I said, just a little information^^
I'm looking forward to read more soon!

Author's Response: Thank you for reading! I am actually well aware of how targeted homosexuals were during this time. I had two goals with this chapter. My first goal was to open up an honest(ish) dialogue between Tom and his best friend that he's had for years (they met in military school, years prior) and my second goal was to introduce a little bit of drama into their relationship. I haven't decided how I want to go with it yet, whether Georg will be an ally or an enemy, but I felt that Tom needed to give Georg a crumb or something. I also couldn't figure out a different way for this chapter to play out. I very much appreciate your review and I am glad you're enjoying the story :)

Poor Tom! But atleast Georg knows..... Well part of it

Author's Response: I'm very conflicted about how I want Georg and Tom's relationship to go from here. I hope that he will be able to help Bill and Tom be together in the end but... I don't know. Maybe it was naive of Tom to confess something so dangerous to a fellow SS officer... *spooky music* Thank you for reading and taking the time to leave a review! Your encouragement inspires me to write!

During the WWII gay men were sent to concentration camps. I cannot see Tom opening up to any camp officer about that. It's too dangerous.

Glad you are back to updating this story. It's great!

Author's Response: Well, you know, there is more to their friendship than life in the Third Reich :P. I've sort of implied this but never outright wrote it, After Tom was sent away, he was pretty fucked up over missing Bill. When Tom met Georg, they became as close as brothers; Tom really needed someone. I think with their relationship, I'm just trying to show how a real friendship can transcend party boundaries and even defy the law. I dunno, I guess it is going to be a bit unrealistic sometimes because I am making all this stuff up lol. Also, I'm aware of how threatened the homosexual population in Europe was and that was kind of why I had Tom confess this. It's a real problem that he's dealing with every day, it's just overshadowed by his Bill problem. I thought it could be a believable reason to be missing meals and looking stressed. Idk now I'm kind of self conscious about this chappy! D: *covers chapter up with quilt* just move along, nothing to see here. rnrnAlso I'm happy to be back! I'm glad you're still reading and reviewing. Your support and commentary mean a lot to me! :)

Maybe Georg could help them? But I think that in these times and on these places were some happyends very unrealistic :(

Yeah, update!

Tom is resourceful. It is great that he found a good job for Bill and his father. Hopefully, everyone will survive the ordeal.

Author's Response: I am soooo sorry that I am terrible at updating and thank you for sticking with me. This story is just getting progressively harder and harder to write but I promise I will not give up! Thank you so much for reading and reviewing. It means the world to me.

Author's Response: I hope so, too! Thank you for reading and reviewing xoxo

I love this story so much. This chapter was so sad, but it showed how much Bill and Tom love each other. I desperately hope Georg will be able to help Tom save Bill somehow, and I'm just hoping the story will at least have a somewhat happy ending eventually or my heart is going to be shattered...It's so moving though.

Author's Response: I'm so elated to know that you're enjoying the story! I was really nervous that no one would like it, honestly. I knew that I needed to work on showing how strong the bond was before the big mysterious separation of Tom and Bill (no spoilers :P). I haven't decided if Second Lieutenant Listing will help or hinder the quest to save Bill. Still bouncing some ideas around about that. As for the happy ending.... eek. I have two ideas for an ending and one is quite tragic, LOL. I hope I don't shatter your heart too much with whatever I choose to write. And yay! One of my biggest goals was to move my readers and impact them emotionally. I really wanted it to be authentic and believable. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and review. It means the world to me.

I'm german, so this story found my interest, 'cause it's always interesting to see, what people made of it in fics. Sadly I read some which were not very acurate in history, so I hope you can make it better. Till now it seems quite good.
I was skeptical about Tom being a high ranked SS officer. That makes him questionable in many ways, but I'm sure, he did this because he was forced (by his father, the authorities or his will to find Bill again). Since homosexuals were one kind of people they brought into the KZ, Tom is in deep trouble, not to mention his interaction with Bill. He could be killed in front of erveryone if his relationship should slip up or he could use his status to run away with Bill. So there are many diffrent options.

Author's Response: Oh it makes me nervous to be trying to impress a German reader! If anything comes out inaccurate, don't hesitate to shoot me an email or review. I've taken classes on the Holocaust and I do extensive research before I post :). As for Tom being an SS member, it will all come out eventually but I can assure you that he's not evil at heart. You know how much pressure there was on German boys be do their part in the war for the motherland etc. thank you so much for the ideas, for reading, and taking the time to write such a detailed review. I really appreciate it and I'm glad you're enjoying the story so far.

Tom's father is a monster. But Tom has grown to be a strong person. I hope he'll save Bill. Nice chapter.

Author's Response: I agree! He reminds me of some of my friends' parents... Yikes. I'm rooting for our Tomi, too! *crosses fingers* Thank you for reading and reviewing. It means the world to me, really. xoxo

Once again you amaze me. You always critique your work far more harshly than it deserves. You are an amazing writer, and this story is both enthralling and entertaining.
