I keep coming bak to read this fic again and again and sgain (too bad I never remember the title so I end up searching trough all your stories' list) just to read the few moments of Tom/Bill in present time. I feel like their story nowadays would make an amazing fic, you know? They're perfect for each other: Tom is a student with great talent but scraping for funds and Bill shares his passion and vision and has the means to support Tom's....so yeah, I feel better now that I wrote about my sequel-fantasy, after so much years lurking this fic xD
ps: by the way, can you share whats Bill's age on this fic? I'm curious to know hoe did you envision that detail.

Well, present-day Bill is loaded and he's somewhere around 26 - 28, and Tom is a student of around 20 years. The story takes place in Europe, I hadn't chosen specifically where. Hope you like those extra details. ;)

Hahaha, wow. That was fantastic. What a great tale. I loved every part of it. From when Tom enters the shop, all through the fall back in time, to the great little shock at the end, no matter how much it was expected to the reader. The story comes around full circle very satisfyingly, and you tell it beautifully. Great job. :)

I have a couple notes on the time period. First, I'm pretty sure they had lost the technology of indoor baths and not gotten it back yet at that time. Second, as nobles, the fact that they were siblings would not have been the taboo - not in that time period. The taboo would have been that they were both men, and, in fact, it was completely illegal at the time, and if they had been discovered they would't have been burned as "witches," they would have been burned as "fags," thrown onto the fire of a witch who was already burning, along with the kindling - 'cause that's what "fag" originally meant. It meant kindling. They wouldn't have had the "honor" of having their own fire to burn in. Other than that, this is wonderful. I always love your work, and this one is no exception. It's brilliant, and I'm very glad that Kishment-san put up the prompt ^-^ Wonderful job, Fyredancer-san.
Author's Response: Oh my dear, it's not actually intended to be a period piece - this is Tom's fantasy and though he's an art student, he's not a history buff, so the details are as he imagines them. I like to think he grasped the essence but not the particulars, you know?
