Oh god, I think my heart fluttered too. I don't know what to think again, because Tom is entitled to feel like this and yet... Bill's clear sadness of his rejection just about breaks my heart too. I hope they can both find a middle ground to still co-exist in each other's life, because I still don't think Tom would be fine without him now.

What an intense chapter! I'm enjoying Tom's conflict over Bill, and I know it won't be easy for them to be together. The reason I don't usually like vampire stories is because there never seems to be a happy ending, no matter how the characters end up. Immortal life, but having to kill to live, seems so tragic to me. I hope Bill and Tom can have something close to a happy ending, at least :)
Author's Response: It is tragic, but sometimes it takes tragedy to birth the most beautiful relationships; romantic or otherwise. I think they'll end up okay eventually. :)

*sigh* Oh, stupid Andreas.. Just because a person is suddenly brave doesn't automatically mean they're capable of murder. I'm glad Tom has his hat back, even if he is conflicted.
Heh, Bill's note rhymed :) Pretty ring; I wish I could see a picture of it.

Lol, I was expecting the mystery of who/what Bill is to be drawn out much longer, but oh well :) Oh geez, I hope that isn't indicative of the story being short in length =O
Oh, and I thought what Tom's school said was very good advice. I hear some schools don't make that effort -.-
Ohhh, and wings? Now it's really deviating from the original XD But I can dig it.
Author's Response: It might end up short, but only because I have two other stories that will come over this one! :D Yes wings! In the book Eli could fly but it was never explained.

I did a little dance in my head when I saw you had updated. It felt like a million years when in reality it was just a few days, because I love this fic so much!
Anyway, you are right. Bill is obviously so lonely. He just wants Tom to be his friend...When he asks him to be like him, does he mean that he wants to turn Tom into a vampire?! Bill is so cute with his little gift, as well. Come on Tom, lighten up and be his friend! Vampires are cool!
Author's Response: Tom has a lot of thinking to do, I think. Part of him holds Bill as a sort of God figure while the other part is terrified. Poor thing!!

Awww! I don't want Bill to leave, because Tom is just going to go into such a depression and go back to being miserable until one day he's going to take his life. I know he would, because all he's clinging on to right now is Bill. But... knowing now this secret of Bill's, I know it's also the only thing that will keep him going, even when he's just waiting for the sun to go down to see him again. I'm not surprised Tom isn't hugely scared of Bill and that Bill himself would feel terrible if Tom were to hate and fear him. I really just love this story and can't wait to see where you go with it.

HOW DID I MISS THIS???
This chapter started out so wonderful and I'm so happy to see Tom looking just a bit more positive in his general outlook on life, even when his father is still being emotionally hurtful. I really just want to hug this boy so hard!
Georg's murder is just the start though, because I have a feeling that Bill is slowly going to get rid of everyone that hurts Tom in one way or another. Because he's going to save him and keep him safe the only way he knows how.

Just a few errors here, like 'down Georg down' and then Bill calling Tom Bill when he asked Tom to follow him home (unless I'm mistaken but it seemed really weird, haha!) Other than that I am loving all of this new information on Bill and his past :)

I'm so glad they're getting closer with each passing chapter, it's refreshing to watch it all unfold. One thing- you wrote 'forth floor', and it should be 'fourth' :)
Author's Response: Thanks! It's funny, actually. I had a math teacher in grade 8 who told us that the 'u' didn't really matter and forth was easier. So I guess that just always stuck.
