Oh, I think this was adorable and I admire your skill on creating whole new worlds and adapting old stories to this fandom. This was really, really adorable and we just got to love Bill's stubbornes .D. Too bad you're not writing thisforward, but I liked this as it was anyway. :)

I just love everything about this so much from your writing to your imagination to little explorer Bill to gorgeous little Tomzan. You are amazing, and you write the most incredible things.
These characters came alive right from the beginning, with all the details you gave them and their charming little personalities. I love the way Tomzan could tease Bill about his smell and his instant affection for the guitar. And poor little city!boy Bill -- I have to agree with him that I'd almost rather a tiger attacked me than a stick insect. It was just so Bill. And Tomzan with his ape mama was really, really sweet.
Please add me to the list of all those who love and adore Pan and would have loved to have seen more of this. You're such a fabulous writer!

I'm not saying that because you like my fic (-_-) I'm saying that because you actually take time to let people know when you like their fics. Though I do understand why you feel that way (even if I'm nowhere near your writing skills!), it hurts that you didn't write more of this. I'm always so excited to see a new fic from you! It truly is so very discouraging to see that no one takes a second to give a chance to your story, and at least leave you a word even if they don't like it. It means a lot to me to know that people have read my stuff even if it's not their cup of tea, I appreciate the few seconds it takes them to let me know. I have to admit, and shame on me, I very rarely review, especially on fics by authors I find "successful", who already get tons and tons of reviews because I feel like mine doesn't add anything and it's only nonsense. You were one of these people in my head - I'm sorry about that! - I always thought of you as someone who knows is a great author and has the support of other great authors so no need for my useless "bravo!" comment. I hope I don't sound too awful. Stupid of me to think that way, tbh, no one is so sure about themselves unless they're not open to improvement.
Anyway, this was very cute and so so nice. You always write bb!bill the best, you're my favorite bb!twins author :3 I'm so happy to see you post, and I can't wait to also read the Girl!Bill one once it's finished/posted lots more (I just can't read WIPs ;_;)! Please don't stop writing ;_;

After Pan, I resolved not to bother writing anymore multi-chapter fics for TH fandom, which is why I scrapped the longer version of this fic. Several months later, I started writing Girl!Bill and debated for months over whether I'd bother posting it. I still love Pan like crazy, haha. I can't pretend that it makes me doubt myself when people don't review. Instead, I get butthurt and feel like I shouldn't bother posting for a fandom that doesn't like my fics. I put a lot of effort into anything I write, and it sucks when it's not well-received.
Honestly, I don't mind if people say nothing if they don't like it! That's fine with me! I always assume that silence means (1) the reader didn't like it enough to bother - which is a valid reason to say nothing, because it's either that or (2) they liked it but have no value for the time I put into the fic - which is a shitty, lol. I'd rather just assume they didn't like it.
It does annoy me when someone favorites a fic but never bothers to even say "thanks for posting". I loathe lurkers, which is why I only ever thank the readers that review in my chapter notes, LOL. Their support is what motivates me to keep going, because I want to repay their kindness with a timely update. Lurkers just discourage me and suck the fun out of posting.
I don't consider myself a popular author in this fandom AT ALL, tbh, and don't get many reviews. But I think TH fandom in general is really bad at supporting most authors with reviews (compared to every other one I've written in, at least). I don't have very many fandom friends, but the authors I am good pals with are, I suppose, considered more "successful" ones, and all of them have had certain fics go by without many reviews. I think because a lot of people feel like they don't "need" reviews. It's never useless to hear "thanks for the update" after you've spent hours writing, editing, and coding a fic :) If we didn't want to hear from readers, we wouldn't bother posting at all.
Wow, what a long rant -_- Sorry! I understand about WIPs - I know a lot of people who don't like reading them :)

I'd love to read more of this. It was great. I was a little worried that Bill would be mauled with the other apes, though I would hope that Tom and his ape mom would take care of him.
I loved that Tom was a natural at the guitar and I wondered what his ape mama was going to think when he didn't come home that night, or when he disappeared forever.
I really enjoyed this. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Omg this is such a sweet story! And now that you've told us what you wanted to do for the rest, i really really wish it could be a multi chap fic cause the idea is absolutely fantastic. Bill is hilarious and I will forever wonder what Tom would have been like 10 yrs or so from now and how their relasionship would have develop. Thank you for sharing this, even if I'm craving for more :P It was the perfect way to end my day!

Author's Response: tbh it would be a very detailed fic and require a lot of work, and I don't wanna go through all the effort and then not have much support, haha. I got really sad about Pan because I loved it and not many people liked it (or maybe some secretly liked it, LOL, but if people don't review my fics I just assume it's because they didn't like it enough). Unfortunately, I am easily discouraged when people don't review stuff, due to a mixture of laziness and butthurt. I put a lot of effort into writing, editing, coding and posting my fics and it just doesn't seem worth it when people don't respond. hahaha ugh so butthurt and whiny, I know! But it's the truth. I think a lot of authors feel this way but we just don't like to say it because then we get criticized for "only writing for reviews", which we don't, but it's also no fun to write and then feel like no one cares. Anyway, thank you very much for you review and interest :) I'm glad you liked it.
