This was perfect! Such a perfect ending. I ended up bawling, but that's okay because it just shows how great of a writer you are. I've gone through so many emotions while reading this and even though it was hard at times, I believe it was worth it.

I am so glad you came back to finish this story. It really is one of the best stories on this site. At times it's been very hard to read, but I think that's a good thing when it comes to a story like this. If it doesn't affect you in some way, then the writer is doing something wrong. This was an excellent chapter for showing some of the issues Tom faces with the publicity around his illness and how he's being more positive about handling criticism. It also shows how Bill and others around Tom, like Simone, will be worrying about him. It will take them time to relax and not be watching him all the time and being extra careful of his feelings. That's why issues like anorexia don't just involve the person affected by it but all their friends and family, and I think you've done an amazing job of showing that in this whole story. Just one point (and not a criticism just some info) in your notes you say that vegetarianism and anorexia might not go well together, well my daughter's a vegetarian bulimic. For a lot of people going vegetarian or vegan is one way they can control and restrict their eating because being a vege automatically means the range of foods you eat is more limited, and being vegan even more so. Not to say that all veges are anorexic any more than all anorexics are vege...but for some that is the case. I'm happy there are more chapters to go, and hoping you're going to show Tom eventually getting back to work, but also maybe a couple of times when he has a little slip up towards going back to old ways when the going gets tough, so it will be good that he still goes for therapy before things get out of hand. Because anorexia is a lifetime thing that never quite goes away completely even when people are in a healthy stage. Sorry for the ramble, and I'm really looking forward to the next few chapters.

Except that I've seen so, so many people getting hooked with their anti-depressants and unable to ever quit them that I don't agree with Dr. Haeger here. :)
So glad to see Tom being better and getting home. And nice touch to add LOL there as a song he wrote in the hospital.

I am so glad I didn't read this when it first appeared. Because I would be biting my nails and wishing the next chapter would be updated quickly! This story is good, really good. You explain everything wonderfully and realistically (is that how you spell it?! lol) I cried at some parts, mainly chapter 8 I believe. Just wonderful work!

Yay, another therapy chapter! I really like these, I like the emotionally open and fragile Tom. I also think you managed to find good, relevant points in this chapter and the main issues started to come out to a daylight. Eating disorders are very complex psychologically, so I like the way you don't make it easy to understand for any of them.

This is most definitely one of my most favorite fics on this site. It's different from most; the storyline and the fact that it's Tom in this position and not Bill.
You write beautifully and when I read, I feel like I'm right there with Tom, like a fly on the wall, watching him. I love how you have paced the fic and haven't rushed things. It wouldn't seem as believable and you do a very good job at making it more real.
I am looking forward to reading more about Tom and his recovery =]
Author's Response: Wow, I just... wow. Thank you so, so much. The reason why Tom is the one sick is actually that I'm tired of Bill always being the anorexic, so I wanted it to be someone else. And the more I thought about it, the more it actually seemed more logical that Tom would be the one with anorexia, because Bill is just way too bubbly and up-front and out there. Tom is more laidback, seems a little more serious, so it fit him better to be the one sick in my story.

It's wonderful that Tom is doing so much better and that he's started liking himself again. He's right to be worried about leaving the hospital, though, no matter that he's eager to go back home. It will be so much harder out in the real world where there'll be all kinds of food around and his meals won't be regulated...and he'll also have the stresses and strains of coping with his career again and all the publicity with attention on his looks. This was very good chapter with the way you told so much through the therapy sessions. Looking forward to the next one.

Awww, that was so.. touching somehow. I really like the scene with Jörg. They all just wasnt the best for Tom, but I guess it's not easy to deal with such complexdisease and slow recovery. Very interesting chapter, opened up a lot of things. :)
