Omg I enjoyed this SO MUCH. The only thing I mightve thought could improve it would've been showing us how they decided their names. I did keep getting thrown with the whole david/dave bit though. Other than that, perfect fic.

First off, I was very, very hesitant to read this even though you wrote it, because I am normally not inclined to read stories of this nature. Couple that with some of the warnings that I shy away from, I wasn't expecting to be drawn in so much. Though the beginning parts were rather dragging for me personally, they were integral to the entire storyline and didn't feel like a waste of time with the entirety, as sometimes I feel with other stories that have elements that bore me.
Yet instead of bore me, those elements intrigued me. There were some minor things that could be changed, like the break between a certain part in a certain chapter that I've pointed out to you elsewhere, but otherwise, the general flow was very well. I could have done with more insight on 703/Tom. Not necessarily insight on his abuse, but more of the project as a whole, or maybe his recovery. However, it worked just as perfect without those additions, so I imagine it's just me wanting to be able to emotionally connect with his character more, as I did with 8177/Bill, and David.
Another element I liked that surprised me was the use of OCs. I didn't even necessarily associate your David with being David Jost. In fact, they were rather faceless to me, since essentially, Natalie, Peter, Patrick, Dave, and David are all OCs in relation to THF. I would expect other authors to have used other, more prevalent TH universe characters in place of the record producers. It wasn't a bad change, in fact it was rather nice, to have all of the characters OC-like in that I had no previous expectations of characteristics other than what you supplied.
The ending was just lovely. The entire last chapter, actually. I loved that with interaction with 703, 8177 grew exponentially in being able to convey his own wishes and "feelings" more than he had with work with David or any of the other team members. His connection to 703 not only helped 703, but it helped 8177 as well. His reaction to 703 being touched made me laugh, but also made me feel more connected, to see that reaction displayed when previously, 8177 had trouble with even figuring out how to say "yes" in proper context.
I really enjoyed this story. It's a shame that with how THF is run, that there seems to be less acceptance and love for Gen stories. Even one slight summary change or category change (as in, if you had added Tom/OC or Bill/Tom) would have most likely tripled your current read status, but that's more manipulation of the market that is THF, and less what this story really is. In there being no prevalent pairings, I paid more attention to those tiny intricacies that I admit bored me at some parts and had me wandering off to Tumblr, but had more meaning in their finality.
Anyway, before this gets any longer, I really did enjoy it and I will definitely be recommending it to anyone I find that I know is a fan of such stories, and even ones that haven't displayed interest in the subject matter, as I sure am uninterested in the subject matter as a whole, but I still thoroughly enjoyed this.

This was pretty creative and cute, with a surprise twist toward the end that I truly didn’t see coming and genuinely made me feel sorry for both of your AI main characters. You also obviously made an effort to research some crunchy technobabble for realism without overdoing it to such a degree that it felt a tech manual. Watching “Bill” learn to be human was really enjoyable. You lost me a tiny bit when it was just the science team conversing, not badly enough to make me start skimming at those points – they just weren’t as interesting as your AI interactions. For some reason Robot!Bill fics always seem to make me smile.
