WELL LOOKY HERE! Little miss Maddy is has resurrected from her death of exams and school life.
Haha I feel totally just as bad for Gavin to have missed this update for a while since you updated it.
For I myself have been busy and totally miss this site with a great fathom! Then again the HET greatness is looking very poor lately so I guess it doesn't help my want to visit as much, but having great authors such as yourself whom make a appearance now and make the wait all worthi while!
Ok enough mushy rambling and on with chapter review!
*cracks fingers and clears throat* AHEM!!
Ok first and foremost the persona of Bill compared to other fics that I have read is very different and refreshing. He acts like a suck up person but it still the understanding and curious type of a dude which we know and love. But some things about him such as how his arrogance shows is different, I usually when read see him as a perfect little beautiful man with a flawless smile. But you Bill shows flaws and rough edges.
But just from a small fragment of wit...I AM IN LOVE WITH GUSTAV ALREADY!! Oh man his remark retaliated back to bill had me in gigglefits, smart cookie he is I must say haha.
The hot and cold relationship seems to take flight once again with the couple, Ty will have to watch what he says and thinks. But she has just as much I out as he does.
Have no idea if this makes sense at all.
My brain is fried but I just had to read and review even if this all does sound like a bunch of hogwash!!

Author's Response: OMG happy dances for my favourite reviewer! *hugs back* This is the review I was waiting for! :PrnI think my Bill is the way he is because I see Bill as someone who hasn't really had to grow up yet. He's been very successful since he was a teenager, and with no backstory angst, he still sort of has that arrogant teenage persona. The same sort of goes for Ash, because she's never really had to deal with an adult relationship before, but they'll both grow up a bit by the end of the story (...but not too much! XD) But that kind of explains Ash and Ty's relationship, because they're trying to make the transition from teen couple to grown up relationship, and not doing a great job of it so far :/rnAs for Gustav, I think he's just glad to have someone new to hear all his jokes...I think the rest of band have heard them all before XD Poor Gustav. He has to put up with a lot :PrnANYWAY I'm so glad you're still hanging around and still reading and I cross my heart and hope to die that the next chapter will be up before you know it ^_^ Your reviews are worth waiting for BTW, and it did make sense...mostly :P Until next time RM xx

Fight! My favorite subject and apparently Bill's too, because he'd mentioned earlier that once in a fight, he gets the taste of it. Surprisingly though, he gave up pretty easily when he had the chance in the first chapter. Perfectly written, I adored the poker game, actually the entire meeting with the band. Good work, girl!
Author's Response: Glad you liked Ash's introduction to the boys! One of the hardest bits to write so far, so I'm glad I got it right. Problem with Bill is he's still a bit scared of Ash - who is this girl who would dare to tear into him like that on so brief an acquaintance? - but it'll wear of soon enough and then there'll be some great argument scenes with our feisty leading lady ;) Thanks again for the lovely reviews!

Why am I not surprised you don't have many reviews? I don't mean to be insulting, but most readers here seemed to have focused on gay plots, while het is so much more inspiring. And if it's an interesting reading and brings a dose of good humor, you've lost most of them. Well okay, I'm kinda bitter here, but I really like the story and I hope you'll keep writing for us, the few who feist on your imagination and pencil. Funny, intense, a good treat!
Author's Response: Yes, I am so terribly sorry about my silence over the last few months. I've been so very desperately with school and study I've barely had time for the internet at all, let alone writing. And then I was convinced that I couldn't write at all for a few weeks, but I got past it, thank goodness. Anyway, good news is you'll have more along soon! Reviews are the best inspiration and I'm editing chapter 5 at this very minute. Thanks for still reading despite the enormous time lapse, and for the luuuurvely review ^_^rnrnPS I am in total agreement with you by the way, it's disappointing how little love het gets, in this fandom in particular. :D Why didn't you tell me you had written another chapter? This is exciting! A really great chapter, as usual. I think you really capture the essence of what it is to have that kind of fraternity that you only get in a band, and it comes across really well. The attention to small detail in the characters is also really great, and I feel like I can learn a lot about them just from their physicality, even if I can't see them.
The one criticism I would have is the lack of page breaks between significant time lapses. I just got a bit confused between the changes of scenes.
Also, Ash seems to becoming more and more like you, I must say... Just an observation.

Author's Response: Aw thanks ^_^ I guess I forgot to mention it with everything that's been going on lately :P I love your reviews, BTW. They are always very well expressed (and quite complimentary :D). Sorry about the lack of page breaks. I did used to have them in but I thought they looked stupid so I ditched them. I think the scene changes become less abrupt as the story goes on, though. I'll try to remember to let you know next time I update!

Who would've thought Gustav was such a naughty boy! Hehe bless his soul.
Nice to see Bill is not so much of an ass...but he is still an ass LOL. I was gonna say that she does seem lonely but it is not her fault. Boy Gustav is a very brainy piece of work who has been hit by the adorable truck with a kinky side hahaha. But yeah she sacrificed to come out and be with her BF but he is busy working, of course it is not his fault. But I really don't see him as a bad guy to hate upon wanting me for them to break up for their relationship seems very bareable. But the things swimming in Bills mind and knowing that he is gonna be spending time with her a bit, anything can happen.
BILL WITH CHOCLATE?! Together? I would be set for life haha.
So how long must I wait for the next chapter cutie? Hopefully not long! *pout*
Author's Response: Gustav is certainly a man of hidden depths, hahaha. I like to think all of the guys are smart in their own way but Gustav strikes me as the most perceptive. I am very very happy that you're liking the Ash/Ty dynamic at this stage, because that's what's going to make things very interesting in a few chapters ;) And I am going to go ahead and promise another update NEXT WEEK seeing as I am on holidays, as a special treat for everyone, haha. Also, Bill with chocolate = heaven. Ash just doesn't appreciate how lucky she is...yet.

Sounds like they got a really hot and cold relationship. But it seems they feed off each others fiesty ways. French fries rock the socks of any other potato factors so what the hell was he complaining about? Haha. Author's Response: I really can't think of a better way to describe the Ash/Ty relationship than what you said. So often the boyfriend in these love-triangles is a complete arsehole, and I really wanted to avoid that. I mean, how could anyone love someone like that, let alone Ash, who is more than a little fastidious in her tastes :P But I worked so hard to make Ty lovable it's gotten to the point where I almost prefer him myself...but Bill still manages to win out ;) No need to apologise for exhaustion, either. If I'd had to write this chapter the other night...I don't like to think what it might have read like XD But the dancing defs makes up for it ^_^ Ahaha.

well, that was definitely worth the wait. This is probably the best fanfiction I've read thus far (although admittedly I have not read a lot of good fanfiction recently). I think it pretty much captures the essence of being a real musician, and is probably for the most part pretty realistic. I enjoyed the pop culture references especially, but wander if there is a bit of similarity between you and ash. The Hobbit? I faintly recall that being your favourite book... Anyway, can't wait to read the rest of this. Enjoy the chocolate :P

Author's Response: So glad not to disappoint. Also glad you liked the pop culture references. I don't deny there are similarities between myself and Ash. I wanted her to be a real person, and the best way to do that was base her on one :D I'm not perfect, and I certainly don't pretend to be, and I think Ash is a reflection of that. I have many flaws, something which I hope has translated across to Ash, even though our strengths and detracts actually vary quite dramatically. I could certainly never be so rude/forthright towards someone I'd just met...which is a fault and a virtue in itself. I could write a whole essay on how we're different and in what ways we are similar, and the more I write about her the more different we become. I don't think she's someone I'd like very much in real life, but on the page we get along quite well. As for the Hobbit...it's certainly a book I enjoyed very much, but it's not one of my favourites. You need to listen more carefully :P

I knew right from the start Ash had my passion for books - one of the few things to survive from the very first draft :P Glad you like the Luke/Aragorn thing, it was something I literally thought up last night in the final edit and had to add! I am definitely a much bigger LOTR fan than Star Wars, but even I have to agree with Bill there that lightsaber is not something to be messed with XD Absolutely STOKED that you liked it and hopefully ch 2 will be up before long ^_^
