Author's Response: After this chapter they do become exclusive, yes. Most of Heather's pain in this chapter is because she thought she had proven herself right, that although they weren't together at this point she felt it proved his character. That mixed with the general pain of seeing the person you love with someone else.

while i understand the whole reason for this and it makes for good reading, please just let me point out that no one who breaks your heart, no matter how bad, is worth killing yourself over...personal experience...to me, suicide is the coward's way out...it's selfish...all you do is bring heartache to those who DO love you...
sorry about that but i had to get it off my chest...i do have to say that i'm intrigued as to what he did that shattered her heart so completely...
Author's Response: I agree completely, I've never once contemplated suicide over heartbreak because I know it's not worth it. There's too much to live for. It was just wha ended up coming out of my fingers, it's a massive flaw of Heather's personality and one she'll eventually come to realise as a major weakness.
